I trust you are excited about your walk with the Lord. I look forward daily to try and live for Jesus. I know I don't do so perfectly, but I do what I can intentionally. For this I am thankful. God is first in my life!
Please continue to pray for our revival meetings. Last night we heard a message about what hinders revival. It is all found on the inside of our hearts. Also, please pray for those who are lost needing Christ, those who are bound in their sin needing to repent, those who are spiritually apathetic, and those who need physical and/or emotional healing.
1 Samuel 10:6, "And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man."
The act of regeneration, is the work of the Holy Spirit when a person trusts Christ as their personal Saviour. I'm thankful that we not only can enjoy the forgiveness of our sins, but we are given a new heart. God imparts His divine nature into us, our spirit is regenerated, and we become new creatures. The prophet-priest, Samuel spoke the words of today's verse to Saul, who was anointed king. In the Old Testament the Spirit of God would come upon a man for service, but didn't permanently dwell in a person like He does today. I'm thankful that everyone who places their faith and trust in Christ becomes a new creature.
In this dispensation the Holy Spirit dwells in the believer, never to depart. Notice what the following New Testament verses say about being made new. 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new."
2 Peter 1:2-4, "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,3According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."
Do you have a changed heart? One that has been made new through the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit. I hope you know Jesus as your Saviour. If so, may you continue to develop your new heart, by allowing the Holy Spirit to control you daily for God's glory and the good of His kingdom.
