Just Because It's Legal Doesn't Make It Moral

This morning I received word via Facebook that a pastor friend of mine was put on a 12-hour "time out" by Facebook because he equated legalized abortion with Hitler's murderous rampage, in Nazi Germany.

Everything Hitler did to the Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, Christians, and the physically and mentally handicapped was legal. Hitler's murderous reign of terror was legal. So the argument that legality and morality are not necessarily consistent is legitimate. What Hitler did to millions of people was wrong. The fact that what he did was legal, according to German law at the time, is utterly irrelevant.

Hitler's murder of millions of people was wrong, even though it was legal. America's murder of 55+ million people (unborn children) is wrong, even though it is presently legal.

Therefore, comparing America's legal murder of unborn children to Hitler's legal murder of millions of people is a legitimate argument.

For Facebook to ban my friend for making the above argument is comparative to the Nazi controlled media of Hitler's day that silenced any and all opposition to Hitler's wicked policies.

What I proffer here is not hyperbolic rhetoric. This is the world in which we live. Facebook's censorship of speech that the company deems inconsistent with popular, quasi-tolerant, politically expedient, and socially acceptable points of view is merely symptomatic of a much deeper problem. And the problem isn't sociological or philosophical. The problem is a moral one. The problem is as old as mankind, itself.

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight! Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine, and valiant men in mixing strong drink, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, and deprive the innocent of his right" (Isaiah 5:20-23)!

Like the Nazi-led systematic slaughter of people based on skin color, nation of origin, and the perception that some tainted the purity of an sinfully-conceived and impossible to attain, superior Aryan race was wrong; the systematic slaughter of millions of unborn children is wrong. It is immoral. It is wicked. It is evil. It is sinful. It is an attack against the very nature of God's holy character.

And everyone knows it.

In order for the pro-abortion person to justify such wickedness in his heart and mind, he must, in a desperate attempt to ameliorate the wickedness in his heart--a wickedness he knows is there, call evil good and good evil. He must call the murder of unborn children good, even if he says he's personally against the practice, but believes others should have the right to choose. He must live in a self-deluded, head-buried-in-the-sand world that so many Germans, including German Christians, lived in while the Nazis were in power.

Many Germans had to call evil good and good evil as they watched train after train roll by their homes, businesses, and churches--trains filled with crying and screaming Jewish lambs being led to the slaughter. 70 years ago, it was called "purification." Today it's called "choice."

Bull. Facebook isn't the state or state controlled
media. Your friend can start his own social media
page and post whatever he wants. Whiny
Christians.
