I am thankful for each one who takes the time to read our email devotional. It is something I enjoy, because I enjoy sharing the Christ and His Word with others. Monday and Tuesday I attended an Outreach Conference that was a blessing, the world is filled with choice servants. Praise His Name!
Please pray for those who are lost in need of trusting Christ, pray for those who are in need of spiritual revival, pray for God's power upon our church family, and pray for those who are in need of physical and/or emotional healing.
Deuteronomy 27:9-10, "...Take heed, and hearken, O Israel: this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God. 10Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day."
This passage speaks a truth that is greatly absent in the lives of most people who say they know the Lord. We are talking about complete obedience to the LORD. The command to obey is tied to the truth of ownership. Verse 10 is preceded by the words, "...this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God." God's ownership of us brings us into a relationship that requires hearing and obeying His Word.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 are similar to us who are saved: "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in you body, and in your spirit, which are God's"
The greatest manner for us to demonstrate that we are saved is through living a life that is obedient to the LORD. I belong to Him, He redeemed me by His blood and made me one of His own, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."
May we determine in our heart's to live obediently to the Lord and His Word.
