“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such a high priest, who is set on the right hand of the Majesty in the heavens. ” Hebrews 8:1
As it says, this verse is a glorious summary. We’ll start at the end: the Majesty in the heavens. There is a holy, pure, righteous God who rules and reigns from heaven. His beauty and righteousness are indescribable.
There is more: a high priest is seated at an honored position (the right hand) before the Majesty. It gets even better…We have! Whoever the “we” represent are blessed people. Though they are so inferior and affected by sin, they have a welcome hearing with this Majesty. They have a high priest speaking for them who is the Son of the Majesty, completely faithful, and has executed his work of paying for sin perfectly.
The “we have” are the people of God, believers in Jesus Christ. If that describes you, make it personal “I have”! I have a high priest who represents me before the God of holiness and majesty in the heavens.
