Eternal Weight of Glory 2 Corinthians 4 v 7-18
What are your are your thoughts and desires concentrated on?? Are they on God and things eternal?? Or solely caught up with temporal glory of the things of this world?? No wonder we worry and are troubled if we centre our life in this expanse of time in which we dwell on the vain, empty things of this life!
When we are told to think on things above in Collosians 3 v1-2 and live for them in 2 Cor 4.v17 onward. Yes, Paul says even in this life and all we see about is pain and sorrow, they are for our good that we might rest on the power of God and rely on him.
How can this be ? We are proud and weak by nature and need to come to a realisation of this and its not as case of we can do, but we can do through God who strengthens us. God's power works through us Paul says. Oh, look at Paul, his life was a great trial wherever he went it seemed was trouble because of his boldness for the Gospel. But we must ask ourselves what did this produce?Salvation through this preaching in Paul says 2 Cor 4. 7-18.All this in and in spite of his weakness , this body of death he called it, yet God brought life to others through Christ who is alive in him.
Always remember this light affliction now is for eternal glory, whatever we going through dear people. Our eyes must be fixed there on eternal glory not on our problems we see, but on things unseen even with Christ forever more,in it we rejoice and hope, in the presence of the Glory of God (Romans 5 v1-5). Glory of eternal life and bliss, we know it in part now and joy in it ,ah, but do we live for it now before all other things? The eternal weight of Glory.v17 . What a weight, of eternal blessings, it all is to come. We know in some measure now through our inward fellowship with Christ by the Spirit indwelling in us, so sweet, but what then my dear people what about then?
