A few have asked me for the Scripture references from this past Sunday's sermon (April 28, 2013) from Matthew 11:25-30. I am happy to provide that for you and also to direct you to a long but helpful resource regarding the doctrines of grace. If you go to www.reformedonline.com click on the "Featured Article" (top left area of the home page) and you'll be brought to Brian Schwertley's mini-book entitled "Man’s Need of Salvation:Total Depravity and Man’s Inability." You will find a good synopsis of the total depravity of man (which I focused on Sunday to some degree) and a great deal more. Let me know if you want further literature suggestions. As you study, may you find God becoming so much greater than you ever thought and man becoming so much more desperate than you ever realized. Here are the Scripture verses and passages used in my sermon entitled: "God's Grace for the Dead" subtitled, "Is it God's Choice or Man's Decision?"
Other than the text of Matthew 11:25-30...
Acts 9 (conversion of Saul of Tarsus)
Referenced the resurrection of Lazarus found in
John 6:6, 38-44 & 63-65
Ephesians 1:3-10 (suggest you read entire chapter) & 2:8-10
This is only scratching the surface and that is part of the reason why I commend to you Schwertley's booklet for a more thorough study than I can provide in one sermon.
