With each passing year I feel less akin to this world and with more longing, I look for a city whose builder and maker is God. In 1 Peter we read: Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, (1 Peter 1:1 KJV)
Peter wrote his letter to the scattered Christians in Asia, scattered because of persecution but also because of evangelism. The gospel had come to the gentiles and the church was growing. These Christians were residents of their cities and some were citizens of the empire but in fact all were strangers to the world they lived in, as are we.
While I appreciate the comforts of this life, I find this world increasingly uncomfortable. A world without God as man creates an existence in his own image and the evil that arises stands in contrast to the holiness of God and the separateness of God's people.
Some are attempting to change the world by changes in governments and the environment. The greatest change will be when we make more strangers. Soul winning, brings about a change converting a person from this world to the kingdom of God. They become strangers with us looking with us for Christ's return. If you want to change the world go tell someone about Jesus.
Everyone can be a soul winner including you. If you will tell people what you have seen and heard, the Holy Spirit will use your efforts to draw people to God and one by one we change this world for Christ's sake.
