Today's news seems so discouraging and hopeless - wars, earthquakes, and snow storms with people without power which looks like they may be without it for days and its cold out there.
Within the world we live (our personal lives) there may be chaos, bad news, sickness, joblessness, etc. The list goes on and on.
BUT THERE IS PEACE IN THE VALLEY. It starts with one's salvation (putting your trust in the ONLY Saviour given to mankind - the Lord Jesus Christ). Romans 5:8-10 (KJV) "8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." Here is the Gospel in a nutshell - Christ died for us. He shed His blood as the payment for our sins. He is alive to give eternal life to as many as will trust His payment for their sins. This wonderful gift of salvation, Romans 6:23 (KJV) "23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord'" is offered to everyone. John 3:16 (KJV) "16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have you trusted in Christ and what HE did by shedding His blood for you, being buried for you, and rising from the dead for you as your ONLY way to Heaven? If not pleas do so right now. Remember the words of Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. This gives you peace with God.
This peace continues after we are saved as we live a life pleasing to Him. Not to keep ourselves saved (John 10:28 (KJV)" 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.") that is guaranteed. Nor is it a way to get to Heaven (Acts 16:30-31 (KJV) 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.). We live a godly life as a result of His saving us. Love Him, worship Him, serve Him, and live for Him because of His gift of salvation not in order to get it and then enjoy Him in spite of what is going on around you.
