We have hit the ground running with a full schedule of ministry activities here in Russia. By your prayers, last Wednesday Eleanor and I arrived safely in St. Petersburg, Russia along with all of our baggage filled with ministry and humanitarian aid. Additionally, excess baggage fees were waived by the airlines - freeing up additional resources for the purchase of Bibles and Bible study aids in Russian. Slava Bogo! (Praise God!)
Late Saturday evening, we once more hopped on a plane and continued our journey east to Tyumen, Russia (in Siberia). We will be ministering in Siberia for the rest of January and the entire month of February as I preach on the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit Sunday mornings, conduct weekend conferences on a wide range of topics from personal evangelism to biblical marriage, and lead Wednesday night home evangelism training sessions and visitations.
In March, we will travel back to St. Petersburg, Russia and spend the month busy laboring alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ there. Our schedule for that time is packed as well - preaching on personal witnessing on Sundays, conducting weekend conferences on topics ranging from parenting to witnessing, and teaching an intensive seminary class at the Reformed Seminary on the marriage covenant.
As you can see, these next few months will be busy! These activities are in addition to the one-on-one discipleship and counseling sessions that "spontaneously" (although we know the Lord has worked to bring them together) develop. We covet your sustaining prayers to empower the ministry placed in our hands for this brief period of time. Please pray specifically that the truth of Isaiah 40:31 would be revealed in our lives - "Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary."
