Well, it’s that time of year again, and we are so excited to share with you some of what God has done and is doing for us! There are many blessings that we could mention, but we would simply like to highlight three. This year has been a year of transitions: from evangelism, to pastoring, to being first-time homeowners. So if you have a second, sit back, relax, and begin to rejoice with us over the blessings of 2012.
We began 2012 knowing that God’s direction for our lives concerning our ministry was changing from Evangelism (traveling extensively full-time) to Pastoring a church in Illinois. The transition to the pastorate would officially begin in the fall; so with that said, every 14 hour drive and every six hour plane flight was approached with eager anticipation to watch God move yet again in the hearts of His people. As we ministered to folks across the country, handfuls of souls were saved, numerous more saints were revived in their spiritual walk, and God protected and provided every step of the way! We have spent nearly 5 wonderful years traveling the country and beyond preaching the Gospel and sharing the love of Jesus Christ, and we are thankful for the Lord seeing fit to use us in this way. We had always figured that we would be in Evangelism for the rest of our lives, but God had other plans and His way is always best!
As September approached, we found ourselves excited to “settle down” in Justyn’s home area in the heart of Illinois. We have been blessed with a sweet church family~ a group of loving, servant-hearted people with a desire to see God work in wonderful ways! Pastor Justyn has stayed very busy with all the blessings and responsibilities that come with pastoring, and he enjoys the opportunities God has given to have in-home Bible studies, and preach in-depth through specific books of the Bible. It has been good~ with all transitions of Pastors there comes some changes, but God has given us much to be thankful for through Crossroads Baptist Church! Pastor Justyn’s messages are being posted online through our website, www.CrossroadsPeoria.com. Please look it up if you haven’t already~ we would love to hear from you!
Rachel stays busy as a Pastor’s wife, teaching a Children’s church class, playing the piano and singing for services; but she also has gotten involved in the community with her music. She directs a homeschool children’s choir and had thirty-three 7-9 year olds in her choir this past semester. She loves it! She also has several piano students that she teaches. She enjoys entertaining, keeping up our home, cooking, and crafting as well. She is looking forward to having a garden this summer.
In the month of November, God blessed us with a home of our own. It is located just 0.4 miles from our church and we love being close to the church and easy to find! We enjoy having people over and opening our home to family and friends. If you are ever in the area, please stop in for a visit! God has been so good to us, as always, and at this special time of year, let us reflect on the greatest gift of all~ Jesus Christ! May we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and God’s richest blessings in the New Year!
