Since coming to Cambodia in 1996, we have been praying for 30 mighty men. We have a long ways to go on that goal, but 10 days ago we ordained one of the 30. Proh was saved in our ministry in 2001 as a direct result of Stephen Benefield's and John Kenderdine's soulwinning efforts. God then gave me the opportunity to be involved in Proh's discipleship and training. In 2007, God led me to ask Proh about going to work with another missionary, Ray Shull, to help him start a church in Ta Kmaw. Proh has grown so much under brother Ray. All of the missionaries who know Proh are in agreement; God is doing a great work in and through him and his family. He truly is one of Christ's disciples.
Proh has a great wife (Pastor Sakaun's daughter) and two fine sons; Jonathan & David. At the church in Ta Kmaw, Proh started a Bible institute and has been helping one of the men start a church in a village about 3 hours away. Proh also continues to serve in a village mission work with his father-in-law. Proh is an outstanding preacher, a good student of God's Word, a wonderful Christian, and a great friend! Please pray for God to bless him and his family with much fruit that remains!
Proh and his family are a huge encouragement to us, but we also have a great burden upon our hearts. Our ministry here in Phnom Penh has not had anyone saved since our return 3 months ago, although God has given us a number of opportunities to teach salvation Bible studies. Presently, we have 10 studies in progress with 5 different soulwinners. These studies explain the Bible teaching that a person must agree with God about their sin, acknowledge the fact that they deserve to be punished in Hell for eternity, admit that they can not save themsevles through good works, religion, or baptism, confess that there is only one God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, and by faith, receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. Some of you may need to receive Christ as your Savior also. I am praying for you! Please pray that God will continue to open more doors, work in the hearts of these people, and give us souls saved for His glory! Your prayers do make a difference!
