We will be live-streaming our morning and evening service tomorrow through sermon audio. WORSHIP SERVICE 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

"I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people:
and I will sing praises unto Thee among the nations.
For Thy mercy is great above the heavens:
and Thy truth reacheth unto the clouds."
(Psalm 108:3-4)

SALVATION IS OF THE LORD
TUNE: "JESUS THY BLOOD AND RIGHTEOUSNESS" LM
WORDS BY JIM BYRD

1. Adore the God of endless days,
Lift up your heart to Him in praise;
O magnify His sovereign grace,
Ye chosen, ransomed, quickened race.

2. The Father long ago decreed,
Salvation for His chosen seed;
To God the Son in love He gave
A multitude that Christ would save.

3. Exalt the Savior, praise His Name;
He saved us from our guilt and shame!
Christ bought the people of His choice,
Lift up His praise with heart and voice.

4. When far from God and dead in sin,
The Spirit wrought a work within;
Since He our neediness has shown,
We trust in Jesus Christ alone.

5. Saved by God’s free and sovereign grace,
Unto the Lord salvation we trace;
Praise God the Father, God the Son,
And God the Spirit, three in one.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRAYER
Though the words of Matthew 6:9-13 are thought by many to be, "The Lord’s Prayer, " this is incorrect. "The Lord’s Prayer," is recorded in the seventeenth chapter of John. The words before us were directed to our Lord’s disciples, not as a form prayer to be recited, but as a pattern prayer for instruction. There is much to learn from its brevity, order and content.

1. The Paternity of God. "Our Father." Prayer is a solemn address to the gracious Father Who eternally adopted chosen sinners into His family and entrusted us to Christ the Surety of the everlasting covenant. We do not pray to saints or angels, but to "our Father" from Whom we derive spiritual and eternal life. "Of His own will begat He us with the Word of Truth."

2. The Palace of God. "Which art in heaven." God rules over all His creation from the highest heaven. As we think of the enthroned Lord we are reminded that we need a Mediator to span the infinite distance between God and us.

3. The Purity of God. "Hallowed be Thy Name." The first petition is that the Lord’s Name be honored and set apart. "Bless His holy name." The only way we can approach God is through the blood and righteousness of Christ the Savior. "No man cometh to the Father but by Me."

4. The Power of God. "Thy kingdom come." This petition has to do with the advancement of the kingdom of salvation by omnipotent grace, that the gospel would go forth in power effectually bringing sinners to Christ.

5. The Purpose of God. "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." This is a request that the sovereign determinations of God be fulfilled, that His will be accomplished.

6. The Provision of God. "Give us this day our daily bread." First, give us Christ, the true Bread of Life and then, give us day by day those things necessary to maintain life in this world. "Lord, supply all of our eternal as well as temporal needs."

7. The Pardon of God. "Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." We know God is just to forgive our sins and declare us righteous through the death of His Son. This is a request for a daily application of pardoning grace to the conscience and that we might have a forgiving spirit towards those who wrong us.

8. The Preservation of God. "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." We ask to be kept safe from all our enemies by the power of the Lord and saved from every effect of evil.

9. The Preeminence of God. "For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen." This is the doxology. In all our prayers, our supreme desire is to ascribe all praise and honor to the Lord. –Pastor Jim Byrd

*****

Since the Lord has foreordained the final end of all things, that necessarily means He also foreordained all the steps leading to that final end. –Pastor Jim Byrd

THE HEARER I APPRECIATE
1. One who has prayed for the preacher and for the blessings of the Lord on the congregation which is meeting that day.

2. One who is punctually in his pew with his family beside him.

3. One who has a Bible open and who devoutly follows the Scriptures read as hearing God speaking to him.

4. One who takes a hymn book and joins in the praise of the Lord as earnestly as does the leader of praise.

5. One who from his heart joins in the prayer time.

6. One who remembers that we are in the presence of God and bears himself with reverence of manner and conversation.

7. One who looks for Christ and grace in the sermon and not for rhetoric, elocution and clever statements.

8. One who listens, takes the message to himself and has a comment afterward regarding the subject.

9. One who has a look and a word of Christian greeting for those near him in the church after the service. –copied
