My mother made donuts and I was so excited but I couldn't have any until our guest arrived. I waited by the door and as she walked up, before she could ring the bell, I flung the door open and said: "Hi Norene, do you want to have a donut? Have you ever had a message burning in your bones! In Jeremiah 20:9 we read: Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. (Jeremiah 20:9 KJV)

Jeremiah the prophet was frustrated with his ministry. Instead of listening to the word of The Lord the people were mocking him and looking for reasons to cause him trouble. That's when he decided to quit. He said: "I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in His name." But, Jeremiah couldn't quit. When the word of The Lord came to him it was like a burning in his bones. He was compelled to speak out even though he knew it would not be received.

Discouragement hits almost everyone in the ministry but like Jeremiah, when you have the word of God burning in your bones you are compelled to speak. And the love of Christ compels us. We can't help but speak the good news to a lost world. Jesus died for sin, rose up from death and has reconciled us by faith to God. Speak it, teach it, believe it, receive it, respond to God's word to you.
