The privilege of being a part of Pinelands’ next chapter is something I do not take lightly. Nevertheless, I think it is prudent to note that although each of us have a role in this production, we must recognize that God is the playwright and we are simply actors performing his will. Through our fellowship and commitment I am reminded that He is the one who is directing our path, and guiding us down the road that we are on. It is up to us to heed His guidance, encourage one another, and be intentional in our prayers to ensure that our actions and decisions are consistently aligned with His will.
During one of our devotionals at a PSC meeting, Richard led us to:
Pray for wisdom. God promises to give wisdom liberally to those who ask for it (James 1:5)
Examine our own motives. We ought to have God’s glory as our chief priority (Matt. 6:33)
Obtain the information necessary to make a rational and informed decision (Prov. 13:16; 20:18)
Listen to the advice of those wiser or more experienced than we are (Prov. 11:14; 15:22)
Ask God to bless us and keep us from trouble (Ps. 90:17; 108:12)
I keep reminding myself that God has already chosen our Pastor for us. This is why it is so critical for us to be walking alongside the Lord.
