When do you break the law to keep the law? Emergency vehicles are given a code three, red lights and siren, clearance when they have to respond to a life or death situation. They can go faster, drive in the wrong lanes, go through stop lights to respond to the need. Otherwise, those same vehicles are supposed to follow the same driving laws as the rest of us.
The Religious Leaders were judging Jesus for healing on the Sabbath. They judged this a capitol offense. Knowing their hearts Jesus cried out: Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?” The people with Jesus were astonished and replied: “You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?” The guardians of the law, who were law breakers themselves, were seeking to put Jesus to death without regard to the good works He did and the message He taught.
Mostly they hated Jesus because His righteousness revealed their unrighteousness; the same reason that so many hate Jesus today. But the healer beckons; come and be healed, come out of the darkness into the light, come out of hopelessness into hope. This, by changing your heart from hating Christ to loving Christ; from disbelieving to believing, from rejecting to accepting.
A simple prayer: Dear Jesus, I receive you into my life, please heal me of sin and give me life.
