Have you ever crashed a party? I did once accidentally- I was invited at the last minute by a friend to another friends party. My arrival was met with surprise by the host and displeasure by the honored guest. I wasn't welcome there, I wasn't on the guest list!
In John 6:65 we read: And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”
There are many party crashers at the Lord’s table. The church has tried to regulate and relegate the unworthy so that they may not partake of the Lord unworthily, but it is of little use. It is God who has granted admittance and ultimately it will be those to whom God has granted to come that will remain in Christ until the end.
The rest who rest on their own righteousness will be offended somewhere along the way and leave or perhaps will make it to the end only to hear from the Lord; “I never knew you.” What a tragedy to think that your personal righteousness and your gifts have saved you only to find out in the end that you must be in Christ, not just in religion.
God has granted, to those who believe in Him and in Jesus and believe that God has raised Jesus from the dead, eternal life. God has granted that these will come to Christ and will be in Christ. It is not enough to faithfully attend you must by faith partake of Christ and remain in Him.
Don't be a party crasher, accept the invitation and garment of righteousness offered you by God! Enter into the joy of the Lord.
