A sermon on James 2:10 focused on the Biblical proposition that to break one command is really a breaking of the whole Law in all of its parts. The empahasis was on the "sinfulness of sin" and that even our little sins are grave evil before God. The exercise was to take a simple sin, such as a lie or gossip and prove that that one little sin was actually a willful rebellion against the Lord god and His entire government. So the preacher went through ech of the commands to show our wicked little act was a direct act against God, His Law and a personal attack on another for our own benefit. This makes us fully liable before the Lord God and in desperate need for a Savior to first redeem us from our past sins and to release us from the constant cycle of sin. Without Christ we are most helpless as evil sinners. Left in our sins we face not only death but the full judgment of God.
