Php 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Php 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
This is a clear calling to stand up and stand out in this crooked and perverse nation that we live in.
It begins with being blameless. Are you blameless?
Then harmless. Are you harmless?
These are attributes of "sons of God".
Without rebuke. Are you without rebuke?
The assupmtion is, that Christians DO shine as lights! Are you a shining light, or a dull little lantern?
Do you hold forth the word of life? That word of life is your Authorized Bible! That word of life is Jesus Christ!
Are you running in vain?
Ro 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? Ro 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
