Purchased EVERYTHING for my 100 mile ride today in the Annual Ride starting in Swartz Creek that I rode last year!!! Everything packed, dressed, drove down to register and start riding all excited!!!! Then I said NO.
Last year when I finished the 100 mile ride I told my trainer that I hated that I missed church and did not want to do another one on a Sunday....right after it was done.
Today....I realized .... I believe this to be wrong as a Christian. We are admonished to not forsake gathering together as the body of Christ. So I knew I would hate myself for going against everything I believe in and was raised to believe and KNEW what is the right thing to do for ME. So I turned around and went home to wait to ride my bike to Church. Now I will have to tell everyone including at work what happened. Humbled but it is the right thing to do. I have heard of people walking 2 to 3 days to go to Church in China and hear I was about to choose to skip church to ride and gain another 100 mile ride under my belt. NO.
I choose Jesus and I choose to love God, love my parents upbringing, love myself, and BE WHO I AM. So I will find a 100 mile ride to do on a Saturday and Never again on a Sunday.
