A quick note while the internet is working. The weather has been stormy so connections have not been holding up well. By God's grace you will receive this, that you might continue to effectively co-labor with us through your intercessions, as well as seeing first hand the fruits of your investment in our ministry.
God has greatly blessed your prayers. As previously alluded to, the National Laborers' Conference expected about 50 to 75 and had over 120 pastors, ministers, staff and lay laborers in attendance. The conference was held in the north in Bamenda. This was about a seven hour drive, and we started out early. All meetings were filled to overflowing. Praise God!
As with the other conferences, this was an "all hands on deck" event. Richard and Kathy Smith both spoke and led workshops. In additon, their adult children, Amanda and Andrew, led the children's ministry, while also training children's workers how to intentionally disciple children in church education programs. Eleanor has been teaching and ministering to wives of pastors and staff since her arrival in Cameroon, and this conference was no different. My ministry continues to be the teaching and preaching of the holy, eternal, inerrant written Word of God - by this I stand or fall. How I praise God for your faithful prayers which empowered the teaching of the Word of God during this four day conference. Because of your generosity and faith, we were able to present national pastors with a personal study Bible. For many, the cost of this Bible exceeds their monthly pastoral salary.
Please continue to pray. This next week is a full week of ministry:
- In the morning I am teaching on the Holy Spirit. - In the afternoon I am training ministers in how to disciple leaders. - In the evening I am teaching the Family Discipleship Seminar.
All this is accomplished through the empowerment of your faithful intercessions and the sacrificial generosity of your giving. I close this e-mail, as always, with a deep and abiding thankfulness for your fervent and effectual prayers, which empower and drive this ministry ever forward in the cause of Christ.
By His mercy, II Corinthians 4:1 Rev. John S. Mahon Grace Community Int. - Cameroon
