Ron Reed
The Inward Life Radio Broadcast for September 7, 2012

If you have ever witnessed the end of a life, you will never forget the moment when the light of the body departs. There is a visible difference in the eyes and in the body. It is obvious when the soul departs and the body remains.

In John 6:53 we read: Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

How is it then that a man could be living and dead at the same time? If you do not believe in Christ, you are dead spiritually and eternal life is absent from your soul. Those who are not alive spiritually are like the living dead. There is no spiritual life within the person and no hope for them beyond this life. When the lights flicker and are extinguished, all that waits is the empty loneliness of eternity.

When we eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus Christ, by which I mean, we partake of Christ by believing in Him, by receiving Him into our lives, light enters and illuminates unto eternal life. It is the opposite effect of death. Suddenly, there is a new light in the person who has new life. Death is conquered and the light shines. There is now life within as Christ has entered the heart.

It has been said now is the day of salvation, now is the time to be made right with God. If you respond now and believe, you will be partaking of Christ and in doing so, life enters. You can begin living your eternal life right now, today by simply accepting Christ as your savior.
