When I began traveling and preaching in the Muslim world seven years ago, I learned that there were approximately 100 mosques being build in America anually. If that number is still acurate, there are well over 2,000 mosques in America today. That should be frightening to any free society, especially a society that has been founded on Judeo Christian ethics. But there is something even more humiliating to imagine when we look at the larger picture.
There are more than 300,000 churches in America that claim to be Christian. I agree that not all are truly Christian, but we do greatly outnumber the mosques; and our God IS God! There is no other God. All other gods are the figment of the imagination.
So if our God is the only God (and He is), and there are more than 300,000 assemblies in His name - why in the world do we fear 2,000 (or even 2,000,000) mosques in America, which are made up of a people who do not even have a God? For all the noise they make, muslims do not even have a God. Their only battle weapons are carnal (physical, mental, and emotional), and while that is something to seriously consider, our weapons are much higher than carnal ones. They are spiritual, and "mighty in God, even to the pulling down of strongholds." With 300,000 plus churches that call themselves Christian, there should not be the slightest argument about whose God is really God. For this I am ashamed, and I pray that this simple illustration causes you to think more deeply about our real dilemma. Christianity across the board is in shambles. We can deny it all we want, but it is so. We are next to powerless; and many teach that God intended to leave us practically powerless after the apostles died. The very idea that God purposed to show Himself stronger through unbelieving Israel under the Old Covenant than through believing Christians under the New, is rediculous indeed, and non-scriptural altogether. But because so many have been taught and have believed wrongly, we limit ourselves to an intellectual argument about God, rather than showing His glory through our lives - the essence of what He worked through Jesus Christ. This should not be, brothers and sisters! We have done far more damage to ourselves than any enemy religion could ever do.
Christians these days are alarmed by the sudden onslaught of Islam in our own communities across America; and rightfully should be. But I say that damage forthcoming to the Christian community by the influence of Islam over the next several years will still not compare with the damage being done every day by the continuing imposition of modern Christian theology against Truth. "Another gospel," is subtle and sly, and undetected by most; but the threat of Islam is a direct affront to true Christianity and has the potential of acting as a cleansing tool separating those who claim to love Truth from those who only pretend to.
