This Sunday was a exciting day, for several reasons. One, we had some visitors to preach salvation to. One middle-aged couple saw our sign and came in just to see what we were like. They go to the 1000+ attendee Charismatic church across the street from us, but amazingly, were impressed with our church, its music, prayer, and preaching, which they said was different in that it was understandable
Two, children's church attendance was up considerably as a result of camp. This is what we look for, so now we would covet your prayers that we can keep these kids. Several children responded to an invitation at the end of the week. Most of the kids are back this week, along with some new ones, including one from a new area that we worked in Saturday and Sunday, and will continue to work in from now on. I was very disappointed to lose another child from this area this morning because of some confusion about the location of their home that prevented us from picking her up this morning.
Three, in teens we had a better attendance than we have had for a while. Two boys came that we had not seen for a while. One has not come for a year or two, but didn't seem hardened to the Word of God at all. Also, for the first time ever, as far as I can remember, we had two teenagers come purely as a result of receiving an invitation. They are from the area I mentioned above. They didn't seem to be in a hurry to leave afterward, though it seemed obvious that some things in our program seemed pretty strange and foreign to them. We will have a teen activity this coming Saturday, so we hope to see all the teens from today and then some there for that.
We praise God for His mercy and goodness in giving us opportunity to do something for His kingdom.
