Dear Praying Friends: Sranantongo Bibles arrive: The weeks fly by. We prepared for the arriving Bibles, which will be stored and distributed by Ethan Champlin from Moengo. We broke down the garage, piled up the wood and zinc roofing, and hired a crane to move the container onto a truck which we loaded after our Sranantongo Bibles and New Testament Commentaries arrived yesterday. The container arrived in Moengo, but tomorrow they will be unloaded by hand because the container weighed too much to be lifted by a crane. We are thrilled to have the Bibles here, and grateful that Ethan Champlin will supervise their distribution after our departure. The loudspeaker system for the Sunny Point Church also arrived safely.
Soul-winning: Liz and I have had a number of very good soul-winning visits over the last 2 weeks. Two persons accepted the Lord for whom I have prayed a long time, and we had several other very encouraging visits.
Books published: Issues in Missiology I, discussing Persecution in the Church and Missions and Money, is printed as well as in e-book formats. Issues in Missiology II, discussing Spiritual Warfare and The Spiritual Life of the Missionary, is on its way to the printer. And Issues in Missiology III, Thoughts on Translation, is coming to the final stages before it heads to the printer. Im currently also working on a fourth volume, on Worldview and World Religion. That topic still needs quite a bit of work before publication.
I am so grateful to Dr. H. D. Williams and his wife Patricia – without their expertise and help this would have been impossible. Dr. Williams, who, by the way, is an M.D., has done all the formatting for all volumes both for e-books and printed books. He is also an expert in translation issues, and his additional input was tremendous. His wife does proof-reading, and with her background, understands exactly where I am coming from…
