President Obama, sensing a politically damaging decision, has recently questioned the US Supreme Court's ability and even their right to judge the constitutional merits of his sweeping healthcare law. The President said that if the justices overturned his healthcare law it would be “unprecedented” and amount to “judicial activism.” Later when asked about his comments, the President referred to the Court as "an unelected group of people".
During the first segment of the program today I will speak with Emily Belz - reporter for WORLD Magazine. Emily has closely covered the Supreme Court during this session, including providing daily reports on the 3-day ObamaCare oral arguments.
This national news story begs the important question for Christian - Is it every right to judge? I suppose just about any Christian that has attempted to share the Gospel or confront someone about sin has heard the words, "you should not judge". It seems in our day and age, Mathew 7:1 (Judge not lest you be judged) has surpassed John 3:16 as the most often quoted Bible verse. But is that what Jesus was saying in that passage from the Sermon on the Mount?
During the second segment of the program today, I will address the subject of judging from that passage in Mathew 7.
