As we are going through this difficult time of preparing for the arrival of a baby with a serious medical problem, it has made us more aware of people around us who are also struggling. The Lord has given me a great burden to pray for other families who are going through times of terrible trial. I feel ashamed and convicted about my lack of love and prayer for those in need in times past. It's not until you go through a hard trial yourself that you really feel burdened for others. We can get so caught up in ourselves, our trivial pursuits, our wants, that we fail to seek to be a blessing to those around us. I pray that the Lord will help me to do better in this area, and help me to love others, especially those who are suffering.

Thank you to all who pray for our precious baby. It means so much when people tell us that they pray for Martin. Please also pray for a little boy named Noah and his family. Noah is five and has mitochondrial disease, for which there is no cure. Pray that the Lord will be very near to this precious family, and give them that "peace that passeth understanding."
