Thoughts on "Why is this Happening to Us?"

Al’s article is timely; not just because of the season we are in, but because most of us have wondered why we seem to be having such chaos within the realm of nature. I remind us all that the Lord does, at times, speak through the natural world that He has created. None of us can say for sure exactly why God is bringing strange climatic conditions to many parts of the world but certainly we are having some great opportunities to minister the love of Christ to those impacted by the storms of this life. However, it is God’s people and not a pagan world that He calls to fall before Him confessing our sins, apathy, loss of zeal for the building of His Kingdom that is permeated with a “care-less” lifestyle. Certainly as a nation we have sown to the wind and are now reaping a whirlwind of sorrows which the Holy Spirit can certainly use to remind us of our dependence upon God, our vulnerability and our great need of repentance which is a word and concept seldom heard from the pulpits of our land. Well, read on as I think you’ll find Rev. Baker’s comments helpful if not challenging.
