Living in Weimar America

America is turning into the Weimar Republic! The constant skimping and using filler ingredients is getting ridiculous.

New toilet paper rolls are half an inch narrower.

Kleenex has reduced its box from 300 to 280 to 260. They also reduced their 184-count box to 174.

(You're not saving money on either, because you have to buy more. Plus you waste more and more packaging.)

Wrangler cut half an inch out of the waist of its jeans.

The local cafeteria switched to some kind of frozen, ersatz bread with a lot of filler to save a few dollars. Wal-Mart's store bread has filler. I don't know what's in their store-brand cheese.

My mother buys a "lite" juice that suddenly jumped up in calories, because it's switched to adding more filler juices instead of the cranberry and grape on the label.

Bibles are becoming disposable, with lower and lower quality paper and binding. Even if you get a genuine leather cover on a Bible, the spine will fall apart in a few years (if it doesn't instantly fall apart). Hardbacks are about the best quality Bibles left.

At what point is Weimar America going to collapse?
