Prove Me Now .... A Spiritual Personal Journal #32 Last Sunday, I was listening to the Minister talk about Jesus and he was using 3rd person English concerning Him. I thought how odd....does not Jesus Himself state that if 2 or 3 are gathered in His name that He is there with them? Then since Jesus was with us...why not address Him as though he was talking about Him being present? Does not the minister believe that Jesus is there? Has he never seen Jesus in the church? What kind of walk does this minister have with God?
I was left with many questions.
To God be ALL the glory!

If the minister was addressing the congregation about you, and you were present, he would use the 3rd person in reference to you when speaking to the crowd. Using the third person as opposed to first indicates the difference between praying to and preaching about God. We shouldn't major on the minors, nor should we get to cozy with God. Though Jesus is our friend, he is not our buddy. He is a sovereign King and God. I love hearing the old time ministers pray to God acknowledging his Lordship throghout.
