Once in a Coma, there are two ways to go: you can either wake up, or you can continue to sleep until death. This is how our spiritual life can be for us too. We can either decide we like our coma, and stay there until death comes to take us. Or we can decide to stay awake and enjoy the many things God has for us to grow thereby.

When I was growing up, I almost shot my Dad one afternoon. Now had I shot my dad, I never would have experienced the closure that God provided for the wounds of growing up. Yet, God knew what was best and stepped in to prevent a sure life changing event.

Sometimes people decide to sleep in their coma in many different ways. Some people decide that booze, or drugs is a nice way to sleep through their lives. We can't wait to grow up and move out on our own so No one can tell us what to do. Then we just simply don't live. We realize that sleep is better than reality....the reality of being alone in this world no matter our situation.

Others sleep in their coma by watching TV for most of their awaking hours and drift off to sleep with it still on. They choose to live a TV life in their heads as they sleep through life. The worst day on earth is a power failure to the house.

Yet look at Spring....the seeds decide that they will wake up and leave the comfort of the knowing to chance a new beginning as a new creature. This is what a real Christian with faith in the loving arms of God does every day. Lift out of the ground, feel the cold snow, deadness all around, and continue to push the roots down for water. A new life grows and soon will bear seeds of its own.

Yes, life is like a coma.....you either wake up or not. You hear everything around you but you must wake up to enjoy it.
