Lesson 9 - Where is Jesus now?
He died for our sins, so He must still be in hell,
that terrible place of eternal punishment!
No! No! No!
Jesus is not in hell anymore!
He paid for sin fully in His remarkable death.
Jesus conquered death for all the children of the Heavenly Father. As a mighty warrior returns home after the battle has been won, Jesus rose from the dead, as a Great Conqueror, in great victory!
JESUS IS ALIVE!
He was crucified on the sixth day.
He finished the work His Father gave Him to do on earth.
His Body was put in a tomb and rested the seventh day.
His Soul entered into a glorious rest on the seventh day.
Then, on the first day of the week,
He rose from the dead!
He went back home to be with His Father in heaven!
And we will follow Him to our home in heaven, too!
While we are here on this earth, Jesus is with us.
He has sent His Holy Spirit to live in the hearts and in the souls
of all His dear children.
The Holy Spirit is constantly moving, comforting, correcting, encouraging and guiding the souls of the children of God.
Isn't this wonderful to know?
The LORD Jesus Christ is with His Father in heaven.
God the Holy Spirit is with us on earth.
God has "ordained", He has designed and commanded,
ALL THAT IS AND WAS AND EVER SHALL BE!
Now, we are the children of God. We are filled with His Spirit.
We are channels only, like a pitcher or a watering can, pouring out The Message: The LORD JESUS Christ, our Saviour!
THE HYMN: Channels Only
"...he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the Master's use, and prepared unto every good work." 2 Timothy 2:21
1. How I praise Thee, precious Saviour,
That Thy love laid hold of me;
Thou hast saved and cleansed and filled me
That I might Thy channel be.
Channels only, blessed Master,
But with all Thy wondrous power flowing through us,
Thou canst use us every day and every hour.
2. Emptied, that Thou should'st fill me,
A clean vessel in Thy Hand;
With no power, but as Thou givest,
Graciously, with each command.
3. Witnessing Thy power to save me,
Setting free from self and sin,
Thou who bought-est to possess me,
In Thy fullness, LORD, come in.
4. Jesus, fill now with Thy Spirit
Hearts that full surrender know;
That the streams of Living Water
From our inner man may flow.
