The Culture War Claims Another Victim

The Culture War Claims Another Victim

If you are reading this blog, it means that you are already on a conservative Christian site and read conservative Christian ideas. Many times when reading blogs or ideas that are so closely related to your own way of thinking, you may wonder why did someone take the time to write this anyway? We tend think that what we understand as common, is what everyone thinks is common. Another rant about the culture war, seems old hat and probably overdone. However I submit the mass majority is still missing the boat.

Another victim has been wounded by the liberal agenda, in our fierce culture war. A young girl who attends our Children's ministry was exposed to a book called "The Dairy Queen". Let me admit that I never read the book, nor do I intend to. In efforts to gain her AR points in reading she checked this book out from a small school in Texas. This was not San Francisco, Boston, Seattle or Vermont, but S.E. Texas. This book is not about steak fingers or frozen treats, but a dairy queen that most of us are not familiar with. Reading some summaries on line, it is about a young girl whose father apparently has a broken hip, and she has to pick up extra chores on the farm. Somewhere along the way she decides to try out for the football team, and mixed up somewhere in the story she has a friend who is gay or considers that she may be. Don't really know, and don't really care. I found out this book is rated for grades 7-10. However, in this case a fourth grader got a hold of it, and wanted to know what a dyke was and was confused why a girl would date another girl. Innocence lost, and once again the tree of knowledge of good and evil sprung forth it's fruit. In summary, it's a plate of feminist role reversal with a side of lesbianism. When reading one of the reviews on this book, it was mentioned about underage drinking may be inappropriate but the lesbianism was never mentioned as inappropriate subject matter.

What a horrible experience for the girl and her parents. Why was a fourth grader allowed to check out this book, I'm not sure. Isn't it a shame that a young girl who thinks she is reading a simple story is now opened up to an unknown world. No turning back for this young girl and her parents, the toothpaste is out of the tube and there is not getting it back in. There are many in the liberal education system who would be happy to know that their social engineering is taking effect. There are those who would see this as a positive step, removing narrow minded parents from binding their children from the America that the liberals are trying to create. Take this story, put it with: proposition 8, the pastor who is facing charges for spanking his child, the teacher who took elementary children to a lesbian wedding, along with countless other stories, and we see a montage of attacks on our way of life and philosophies. However, when we rant from the pulpits there are so few who really care and see the ills. Even those who admit to problems have little resolve to do anything to try and make a change. These are at least those who show up on Sundays, the larger majority see Christian ideals as hate mongering. Others just simply redefine what Christian beliefs are, and reconcile the liberal agenda with selected Christian teachings. So many who say, "live and let live" until one day unexpectedly what they thought was a problem somewhere else now becomes their problem. The liberal agenda is not about equality, it is about domination. It's not just about accepting alternative lifestyles, but they demand the affirmation of their alternative lifestyle. There is no staying neutral, even those who least expect problems will find themselves in the culture war, probably as victims. Many main stream families who do not want to get in the fight will find that the fight is coming directly at them. Many will succumb to the expedience of choosing the liberal agenda because they believe they will be viewed as tolerant. Tolerant is the highest compliment to be paid in the politically correct liberal mindset. Little do these families know, that their tolerance will be stretched further every year. They will have to be more tolerant next year than they were this year, and unfortunately many will, not recognize how much of their value system they have given up.

We are allowing a full frontal attack on our children in the public education system. Want to know why so many young voters vote for liberals, it is because they have just spent the last 12-16 years of their life opened to the indoctrination of state supported big government paradigm. It doesn't matter what government school you are in, it's there, antithetical Christian philosophies. Evolution, alternative life styles, along with schools disregard for Christian Worship, holding practices and programs on Wednesday evenings. By the way we are lucky enough to pay our tax dollars to promote this. This is what is being pushed by the school system, this doesn't even include the behaviors being learned from the kids they are going to school with. Seems extreme, but it's the facts. Main stream media, the public schools and universities are successful adversaries who have taken the slow turn approach and are leading this big ship to the bottom of the sea.
