Since the second half of the counseling seminar did not take place until the afternoon, we saw some of the sights in the area we were staying in Czech. We first visited a very old church nearby which took 30 years to build. We were told that Zwingli preached here! This area of the world is where much of the time of the Reformation period originated from.
We then went to a museum where we saw some of the history of the area. Much of the workforce to this day are involved in the steel industry. Here is where Moravia steel is produced, which is known worldwide for its quality. During the time of Hitler, much of the material for war was produced in this region for the Germans.
Since it was raining, we spent a short time at a nearby village, which is known as “little Vienna.” We also made a short trip over the border into Slovakia Republic.
At 4 PM the seminar began again. Larry, Julie and Bruce made their presentations. There were at least 10 pastors from the area who attended. There was even one Catholic bishop in attendance too!
After a closing ceremony, we had a wonderful dinner and headed back for Poland.
We hope that many lives and hearts were touched by the purpose of our mission. We pray God’s blessings upon it and hope that it will bear much fruit. Plans are already being made about future trips back to the area to do more teaching.
We all praise God for what we have learned from the Polish and Czech people! Tomorrow we have a day off and then we will visit Auschwitz and head for Krakow on Friday.
Thanks to all of you back home for your prayerful support!
