We as Christians have been given a ministry by God: The ministry of reconciliation. “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;” 2Cor.5:18
We are to bring others to Christ. Simple! It is a responsibility we are to take seriously and it makes all the difference for eternity to the soul of those who accept Jesus Christ and to those who don’t. Our soulwinning opportunities as a church are mostly on Saturdays. They are Operation Saturation for the adults and Bus Visitation for all ages, Teen Visitation, and Sunshine and Smiles for the younger children. We just finished our TNT soulwinning class that we have every year. It is a twelve-week program that includes a Sunday School class, materials to study at home, with a time of practical visitation each week. The Lord has blessed Mt. Zion with souls being saved and by adding to our church. It is always a joy and encouragement to share the Gospel, a testimony of salvation and or a tract with someone who is unsaved or unsure of their salvation.
The ministry of reconciliation is a commitment, but a joy, and not in vain.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1Cor.15:58
Our Missions Conference is October 25th through the 29th. It is a great time of the year to fellowship with and get to know our missionaries. This year Rey & Julie Villarreal to Mexico, Pastor Tom & Holly Almanza from Greater York Baptist Church, (our church plant), Don & Laura Stertz with Couriers for Christ, Gina Frey missionary to Zambia, Africa, and Byron & Judy Cromwell, relief missionaries, will be with us. Our theme is, “Who, Me?” and Romans 10:14 is our verse for the week.
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Romans 10:14
We are looking forward to a great week! Won’t you take some time from your busy week and join us in being challenged and encouraged in this ministry of reconciliation?
“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” 2Cor.5:19
