Who Gives Rest to the Weary?
The Jehovah's Witnesses claim Jesus is not God. But consider: Matthew 11:28. “…come to Me, you who are weary… I will give you rest.” Isaiah 40:29, “…[Jehovah] gives strength to the weary…”

Q. Who alone has power to answer prayer?
JWA. Why, Jehovah God!
Q. But I see in this text that Jesus of Nazareth makes a claim that Isaiah (and you) would say is Jehovah’s prerogative alone. Why did Jesus not say, “Come to Me, and My Father (Jehovah) will give you rest” ?
JWA. I am sure that in a limited way, Jesus can do many of the things Jehovah can do. But He is not Jehovah.
Q. Limited. My text reads “all.” All weary. All heavy laden. I notice that the NWT is in agreement here.
CA: No, our Jesus is not limited, and even during His stay here was limited only by the will of the Father. He never said anything the Father was not saying. It is evident here that the Father spoke through Jesus a carte blanche for any person, in all of mankind’s history, who will admit his weariness to God, a solid and secure resting place.
