SERMONAUDIO TIP
Helping to Promote the Local Church in So Many Ways
Attention all broadcasters!

In an attempt to help our broadcasters at the local level, there are a number of features throughout the site that allow the visitor to quickly see which churches are in their area. Visitors who have properly registered with SermonAudio (by entering their email and zip code when playing a sermon for the first time, or by using the Local Church Finder page) will see all broadcasting churches that are within a certain mile-radius of their current ZIP code location.

  • The Main Page of the site has a section to quickly display local churches as well as churches in their particular state.

  • MyChurch link on the toolbar which allows any visitor to specify your church's Member ID as their "home church" for quick and easy access to your church's sermons from anywhere on the site!

  • A separate section, called Local Church Finder, allows you to specify a zip code or city name and a mile-radius and all resulting nearest churches will be displayed organized by nearest to furthest.

  • New! Interactive Mobile Map! A highly interactive MAP section now appears prominently in all our mobile apps so you can easily find the churches in your area, while on-the-go! Rapid searching makes it easy to find any church!

  • New! Mobile LOCAL Section! A new LOCAL section now appears on supported mobile apps that quickly presents newly-added sermon titles and churches that are local to your area. You can even filter by church affiliation!

  • New! Local Churches & Apple Watch! The Apple Watch makes it easier than ever to find a nearby church on SermonAudio. On the local page of the watch, you can see 10 closest churches to your current location, sorted by distance.

  • New! Local Finder on the Roku TV! Easily find the churches nearest to you on our SermonAudio channel on the ROKU TV by entering in your ZIP code in the new "Local Finder" menu. Great exposure for your church!

  • Interactive Google Maps in the Local Church Finder now allow you to visually see on a map where broadcasters are located making it even easier to find that church around the corner from you!

  • In an effort to further increase the awareness of local churches to our visitors, we've added the Local Miles indicator on every sermon page, every photo album page, every weblog page, every events page, and every web store product page of broadcasters that are within 60 miles of that particular visitor.

  • We now have extensive support for Google Earth—a free download from Google's website which allows you to "fly around" in a beautiful 3D environment combining satellite imagery, maps, and terrain.

  • The Event Manager now supports an extra tab called "Local Events" which when clicked will show only the upcoming events within a certain mile-radius of the ZIP code specified. More info..

  • In every sermon result listing, visitors can select the My Local subset filter to instantly show only those sermons preached in churches that are local to you! Easily keep up with the newest sermons preached in your area. More info..

  • New! We make it easy to order 500 business cards professionally printed with your church information on the front (and a Gospel verse on the back) to help with your outreach efforts in your local community!

  • We're helping bring more exposure to those churches that are currently seeking a pastor! We've created a Vacant Section in the Broadcasters toolbar menu option that shows all churches in one list whose pulpit is vacant.

  • New! Local Text Ads provides an easy and inexpensive way to give your ministry some extra exposure directly to viewers that are in a specified mile-radius of a local ZIP code on SermonAudio via local text ads!

  • As we are able, our commitment is to PRINT, MAIL and DELIVER at least 10,000 copies of the Gospel of John directly to homes in target cities that can benefit the local churches broadcasting on SermonAudio.

Local Campaigns provides an easy way for your church to print, mail, and deliver 10,000 copies of the Gospel of John directly to individual homes surrounding your immediate church area. Your own church's information is exclusively printed on the cover and inside front cover!

SermonAudio is in the business of helping and promoting the local church by the above and other methods. If your church or ministry would like to further your exposure both locally and globally, we would certainly encourage you to broadcast with us! Enjoy!

Denominations are unbiblical, being formed by brethren who differ on secondary matters unimportant to salvation. Take the Presbyterian Church for example. How many offshoots are there since its inception - plenty. Same with all the others - plenty.
One Town - One Church, period.
I agree with you John for what you wrote is the truth. However, my comment
comes with this warning for some:

2 Peter 3:16

As also in all [his]
(Paul the Apostle's) epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Brother,

Now you and I are talking the same lingo, and I am right glad to see it. There is but one "church" in the world, as far as our Lord is concerned, and that is the born again, saved, people. You could call them Jesus People if there was not a cult going by that title. But the best biblical title is "Brethren", especially because Jesus is not ashamed to call us brethren.

Brother John, I have had experience with several "churches" including what you called "The Brethren churches" and "the Open and the Exclusives". I have had good experiences and bad experiences in regard to my three quotes from you in this paragraph. I haven't been in what you called "Brethern churches" I think for over a decade so, I trust no one will think I am a shill for what you called
"Brethern churches."

To continue brother David

Since those days I have attended at many different churches, some of which were most helpful, some of which were not. The Brethren churches, of which there are two main strands, the Open and the Exclusives, impressed me greatly in their church government, their simplicity, their reverence, especially at the breaking of bread and, in the earlier days, of their evangelistic fervour. Reformed Baptist churches also impressed me with their doctrines on salvation, and their emphasis in preaching on Christ rather than man. Certain charismatic fellowships impressed me with their joy and spontaneity, but the Lord told me to come away from them because of false doctrines, false conversions, and their acceptance of certain spurious experiences like the "Toronto Blessing". Other fellowships, like a community church impressed me with their high aim after holiness, but then the gospel was never preached, and so I had to leave that one.

The sort of local churches I have to choose from leave a lot to be desired. And no, I shall not be returning to the Baptist church I attended today, although I have some tales to tell concerning my visit that really cheered me up. For eg. the text preached from:

"You do not have a bucket..." GNB

Hello Bro David

I suppose I had better explain, hadn't I?

With christendom being so complex, with fragmentation and schisms galore, it is not so easy for one converted "outside" the visible church from the world to decide which church he should attend. I was in this very position when I was saved by Jesus, so I asked the Lord where to go. He directed me to an Evangelical Free Church where he was working in a mighty way, saving souls regularly, and energising the preached word to the great benefit of the congregation. As I began to learn doctrine, I discovered the church was constituted with a statement of faith called the 1689 Baptist Confession. This became my church for over ten years, and I attended all the meetings and was involved with door-to-door evangelism and open-air witness in the town centre every Saturday. It was a glorious decade.

John my brother,

Perhaps what I will have to say will be helpful on the page:

"Helping and Promoting the Local Church in Many Ways"

I see John that you said:

"ordination is not a biblical concept or practise. Sure, godly men should be able to recognise the spiritual
gifts given to a man who feels himself called to minister, and this is what happens in the Brethren churches. The only reverend in their assemblies is God."

I see that you also said:
"being churchless at present, I also have grave decisions to make, which could mean a move eleswhere.
On the Lord's Day I am planning to attend Penuel Baptist Church for the first time, and I know not what to
expect. "

It seems to me in my first quote from you that you seemed to describe a kind of "church" you liked but in my second quote from you, you seem to be talking about possibly moving to a Baptist Church. If you care to elaborate further on the seeming conflict it would be appreciated.

I'm curious as to why in doing a church finder search, that two churches are not listed that teach the Word and are minutes away from my location? Both are non-denominational and have 3-5,000 in their congregation as well.

I would like to know how I might be able to add our Church here in Lakeville to your Church finder. We are a Reformed Baptist, family integrated church with many homeschoolers. Thanks and God bless!
