SERMONAUDIO TIP
Improved MP4 Video Support Utilizing H.264 Standards
Attention all users!

We are happy to announce our improved video solution for all broadcasters that integrates archived videos seamlessly into SermonAudio, with unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth, at reasonable rates without additional recurring monthly fees! We never charge by storage or bandwidth usage and we fully support both 16:9 widescreen and 4:3 standard sizes!

Multi-Platform Support! All new videos uploaded to SermonAudio are now transcoded into the industry-standard MP4 (H.264+AAC) format. This enables us to stream the same video to a wide variety of devices including PCs, Macs, iPods, Roku TV, and mobile phones like the iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, and more!

Higher Quality! HIFI-Enabling your broadcaster account dramatically increases the encoding quality of your videos. Feel free to upload your videos at any bitrate and resolution and look great every time! Check out the videos of some of these high-quality examples: here, here, here, and here.

Other Improvements! Our video upload rates have decreased, but our video encoding quality and speed have both increased with our improved encoding infrastructure. We can now accept more video formats including MPG, MOV, M4V, F4V, WMV, MP4, etc. Additionally, as a courtesy we automatically generate a 150kbps version of the same video and an audio-only MP3 for slower connections and mobile users.

Our video player is flash-based for no-hassle playback and it utilizes a true-streaming system that allows you to instantly view and scrub through the video without waiting for it to first download. Additional features include: displaying the sermon details, featured product, and alternate firewall link support.

In addition to church services, you can also upload videos of mission trips, special events, lectures, youth and family camps, special video presentations, DVDs (entire or clips), archived live video webcasts, and even a welcome greeting video of your church.

Please note that copyrighted content or musical performances of any kind are not permitted. Other restrictions may apply.

New! Video Embed Codes! Any video you upload can be embedded into your own website with or without additional sermon information automatically attached. Simply use the Email & Share button on any sermon page to easily copy and paste the relevant embed codes. Click on the sample video below!

Auto-Conversion: You can upload your videos at any bitrate and in a variety of formats such as: WMV, MP4, M4V, F4V, MOV, MPG. For detailed help on encoding and uploading videos, please refer to our step-by-step video help page.

Because all videos are encoded in the industry-standard MP4 (H.264+AAC) format, it's possible to enjoy your videos via video podcasting on portable media players as well as on other websites via our easy-embedding codes!

Video support for mobile! All new videos are automatically available on a plethora of mobile devices including the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android, BlackBerry, and ROKU TV.

Search and Filter: The search facility on the site provides comprehensive support for both VIDEO and PDF media types. On any search result page, simply use the subset filter drop down to select VIDEO and only those sermons with matching videos will be displayed.

Browse Videos: We've added a new Videos Section that allows you to conveniently BROWSE and SEARCH Videos (and PDFs) by a variety of organizational groups including event types, topics, speakers, date, and Bible reference!

Download Report: For broadcasters, you'll be able to view up-to-the-minute video download statistics in the Members Only Area as well as a summarized geographic download report of video statistics in the regular Monthly Download Report.

For more information about this service (including pricing information) and a step-by-step guide on how to encode and upload video to SermonAudio, click here now. If you are a broadcasting member of SermonAudio, video-support is already enabled for your account and you can begin uploading at any time!

Enjoy!

scudrunner,

I don't know if this will help but I had to search for the MP4 files and open them through the VLC program itself. It does not automatically find and open MP4 files, so the default is still Windows Media Player, which will not play the audio. I hope to find a solution to this extra step...

Alan H

Just an observation: MP4 files seem to take longer to download. I know very little ablut them, so I don't know why this would be so. But the quality is very good.

Alan H, your solution is here:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Download the freeware VLC Media Player. Quoting from their website:

'"It plays everything!"

The media player that fills all your needs. It can handle DVDs, (S)VCDs, Audio CDs, web streams, TV cards and much more.

You don't need to keep track of a dozen codec packs you need to have installed. VLC has all codecs built-in. It comes with support for nearly all codec there is.

And what is more it can even play back the file or media if it is damaged! Missing or broken pieces are no stop to VLC, it plays all the video and audio information that's still intact.'

Actually they were a little enthusiastic with their "it plays everything" comment as I know something it won't play.

But in my opinion for what VLC does and can do for a person willing to glorify God, it is the number one computer media player. And of course it will play your MP4 files with sound.

I am sorry! I have a very slow phone line. I am limited to either watching videos at the library or downloading them at the library and watching them later at home. I just tried a video I had down loaded and it wouldn't play the audio on Windows Media Player.

Then this makes a MP4 player necessary for us viewers. Any ideas?
