‘They Think War Is Always the Answer’: Sen. Rand Paul Takes Shot at Some Christians’ ‘Overeagerness’ to Defend Israel Militarily
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says he has difficulty reconciling the politics of “some” Christians who support Israel and Jews — especially their “overeagerness” to go to war to defend Israel — with the tenets of Christianity.

Paul makes his comments in an interview with Buzzfeed:

“I think some within the Christian community are such great defenders of the promised land and the chosen people that they think war is always the answer, maybe even preemptive war. And I think it’s hard to square the idea of a preemptive war and, to me, that overeagerness [to go to] war, with Christianity.” ...

Muslims do believe the Bible, including New Testament (unlike the Jews who despise the NT). The Koran adds to the Bible, takes precedence when there is a dispute between the two, just as Mormons put the Book of Mormon ahead of the Bible or the Calvinists put the Institutes ahead of it. But Muslims have not twisted the nature of God or Judgment or erected a religion of License to Sin, and walk in fear of the Lord, are humble and righteous people. In the end we will be judged for our works. Jesus came to not only atone for sin, but to defeat it, and Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and they follow me." Our sins are not paid in advance, and past sins previously forgiven can and are put back to our account, even ten-fold, ie when we fail to forgive. Better not to have ever known the Lord, than to know him, have the light, and then wilfully sin. Better to be without a hand, eye or a limb, than to go through life allowing our body to control us into sin. Better to sin in ignorance than in light.

Koran teaches Jesus was conceived by "Word of God" of virgin Mary, taken bodily to Heaven, and is coming again to destroy the antichrist and rule the world in peace. Koran calls him "Messiah."

well, John UK, I cannot answer for him, but Christ is considered a good man in Muslem scriptures, but this is not sufficient for their spiritual condition.

Salvation comes in this lifetime, through Christ who died and paid the price. There is no work that is greater than this and there is no life that is perfect enough to atone for these sins.

That is us Gentiles, the Jews, and the Muslems of all types, we will all stand guilty before God.

That is why preserving the New Covenant message is the purpose of the Christian.

Not letting other vain philosophies to worm their way in and make us compromise our very hope.... be it trying to build the kingdom through sword or falling to relativism, racial distinctions regarding spirituality (for God made the world and there is not one right language or people).

As Christ purifies believers, when they do not combine their faith with filthy lucre, they can then be a shining light, testimony to those who might teach that some groups are "better" than others.

The answer is simple:

Jesus Christ atoned for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead and those who are redeemed follow the pattern of Resurrrection.

Correct! Will you be one of them? If no, on what grounds is your assurance that all is well?

Did you get your examples switched about the "kill them all" part? Don't most of the people here favor WWIII for Jesus against people across the ocean who have done us no harm and who are more righteous than we? Who do you think God is mad at? Them or us? (Hint: Read Jeremiah 50 and 51, Rev. 17 and 18) God judges by the light we have, and they live more righteously with their lesser light than the License to Sinners do with their supposed greater knowledge of God. The one who sins with the light gets to burn hotter than the one who does the same sin in ignorance. The U.S. is a mass rush of lemmings off the cliff into Hell. Take the giant log out of your own eye before you try to take the speck out of somebody else's eye.

Hmmm. First of all, we worship two distinctly different and seperate Gods, and we live our lives according to two very different instruction manuels. Christians, the Bible; the complete, inspired word of God, and Muslims, the Koran...written; invented in the 5th century by a man of very questionable character who was also prone to epileptic fits and visions. Christians: love and pray for your enemy, Muslims: kill them all; men, women, children.
"The Muslims await Jesus' return to destroy the Antichrist". No, they are awaiting the 12th Imam; Mahdi; the chosen one who will come out of a well in a small Iranian town. The world must first be in chaos, even if the Muslims have to create the chaos...according to them.
Very, very interesting that the Mahdi arises from a dark, dank hole that goes deep into the Earth...

Judeo-Christian is an oxymoron; Judaism is a false, occultic, satanic religion.

Islamic nations are civilized, few prisons, no usury, no poverty, no divorce; low infant mortality, autism, and people in better health with longer life expectancy than U.S. Spiritually, Muslims have more fear of God and love of their neighbor and righteous living than any License to Sin fake Christians that Jude condemns for "turning the grace of God into lasciviousness." The Bible believers who have light but preach and practice License to Sin will burn hotter than any Muslim person who lived more righteously and did so with less light.

There will be hordes of people who are going to be in for a big shock on Judgment Day. Especially the ones who think the second coming already happened and that we are living in a millenium utopia, "Destroying the faith of many." The Muslims await the Messiah Jesus to return and defeat the antichrist. I'd say they are more Christian than the bulk of (fake) Christians in the U.S. who think their sins are all paid in advance so may as well relax and enjoy them all.

You can say this with a straight face while ignoring what other authorities do every day? What happened to not saying bad stuff if someone is in office? Or do you manage to limit that to presidents only? Biblical backup for the limited approach if you don't mind.

Robbarde, Oh, I should dismiss the Pauls, as anti-Semites, and I got news for the Fruit Cake Jr., most Christians support Israel, not just some, q.v., Christian Zionists: The Real Terrorists Since Israel is more of our 51st state them some Commonwealths I can think of, They should not only be considered or friend because they're the enemy of our enemy, Muhammadanism, but because they are living proof that Western Civilization (q.v. What does Judeo-Christian Mean? ) is superior to the Inadequacy of Islam.

No, it really appears that both Pauls have difficulty of not being Too Close to Kooky.

It's common behavior for corrupt politicians. When things aren't going well at home, find a common enemy. Nothing better shifts the minds of the homefolk from evil at home as will pointing to evil elsewhere. If that doesn't work, find a "them" within to focus on.

Christ teaches;
Matt 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows."

Wars are going to be a feature of mans future as they have been a feature of his past. We observe how close Obama and his followers are to war with Syria and that's not going to be the end of it. As for Israel and war - I don't think that anybody doubts that it is on the cards. Considering the muslim countries attitudes towards Israel, and the fact that they surround Israel, that particular fuse will definitely detonate one day regardless of what western politicians say.

Christ's church in America must be completely purified from the influence of Zionism. Since the beginning of the century, the cult of Dispensationalism has made its way into Baptist churches and a plethora of other Christian denomination across America. Almost all American Christian cults have their "heritage" in Dispensational theology. American Christians need to wake up for they have been duped. Secular Zionist have sneaked and wormed their ways into Christian churches through "Dispensationalism" and slowly neutralized the message and the witness of the Gospel. Israel is using this "compromise in faith" to highjack Christian support in America to fight its dirty little wars for its personal advantage. It is time for America to break free of this bondage. The Zionist will never have anything to do with Jesus, the Messiah. Christ came to save both the Jew and the Gentile from his sin using the message of the Gospel, which is that Christ’s Kingdom has come to rule in man’s heart.

conditioned to send their grandchildren in at all costs. I know because this is the world I've been in. At all costs, even if it means using torture, depl uranium, means disrupting stable nations, even if it means that Christians be massacred.

They teach Christ's return is based on the land, rewriting the message of the New Covenant and the idea that Christ returns to redeem the world from sin. I've heard it from the brethren, they say, if you aren't for the wars, God will turn against you (and if God turns against us the rapture won't come).

Millions of evangelicals have become slaves to this, and now that they see a Marxist liberal running the same program, are having cognitive dissonance and going quiet.

But I remember the calls for war, I remember the war drums in private conversations.

I remember my own wayward trust in those who would lure the church in with their false confessions of Christ.... "I went to a Billy Graham Crusade"

Senator Paul has been on the floor of the Congress trying to reason with Senators that our agendas are not worth hiring AQ that kill Christians...

Our Christian leaders haven't gotten themselves to the point where they ask the most fundamental of questions.... we are left with politians being our moral spokesmen.
