Christian Apologist Says Church 'Losing Battle' Against Hate Label for Homosexuality Stance
Nobody likes to be called a ‘hater’. Hate is such a loaded word. The dictionary defines it as ‘intense dislike’, ‘extreme aversion’ or ‘hostility’ towards someone or something. It’s the antithesis of Christianity’s core value – love. However, if you stand behind the traditional Biblical stance that homosexual behaviour is a sin, than expressing that view could land you on the wrong side of the law as a perpetrator of ‘Hate Speech’ in Canada. The precedent was set early this year in a ground-breaking case in Saskatchewan that calls into question our Constitutional right to ‘Freedom of Expression’. The Supreme Court ruled the distribution of anti-homosexual pamphlets was a violation of the hate speech provisions of the Human Rights Code.
World renowned apologist, Dr Williams Lane Craig, is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders of the traditional Christian faith on the planet. Leading...
Whew...glad I made it back in time before someone took me to task. Let me change that to: I have been through, many, many things. I didn't consider things like I have never murdered, I have never raped anyone, etc., etc.

Overcome what? Look what you just wrote on the other thread
"Put me in a room alone with these people. I would make them scream in slow, painful terror for days. If they lived through it, I would poke their eyes out, saw off their hands, take a sledge hammer to their you know whats and then let them go."
I would say those demons are still with you and they enjoy the company of a few posters here
Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
By the way, I have not gone into detail or told anyone half of what I have been through, been exposed to, etc, whether natural or spiritual. I haven't spoken of any spiritual thing because most would think I was a nut. Anyway, if the need should ever arise, I can relate to anybody on literally anything...I have been through and experienced it all...and I mean it all, and I'm not saying that lightly or without thought. The only reason that I have ever been able to think of as to why God would have allowed me to go through all I have, is so I would be able to relate, really relate, to anyone who has gone through the same. I have had a really crazy life and am proof that anyone can overcome, as others are as well, but I have done it or experienced it...from A to Z. I'm not proud if that but am happy that I may be able to help somebody, someday, as a result...actually having the knowledge to relate or being able to genuinly sympathize. Even though I am not a professional, I am a great listener and have been known to give really good advice to those facing, or trying to overcome the same things that I have been through.
Hi Lisa...nice to have you around and I hope you stick around. I think you will be facing many corrections that the men and women here will back up biblically. Some people leave very quickly because they can't handle being told and proven that they have been taught wrong on certain things; sometimes becoming hostile...even though they are wrong. I was saved a year and 1/2 ago or so, and I went full blown Charismatic...hard and heavy. Nobody could tell me I was wrong and I thought all other churches (denominations) were dead. Everything was a demon, I thought God would speak directly through me at will, I though I spoke in tongues, and on, and on, and on. Not to mention my many doctrinal errors. Anyway, I came onto the board thinking I knew much more than I did and even took the correction as hostile at times but have come to realize that every single, regular, here, has the best of intentions, mean well, and genuinly care. There are arguments, but they fizzle out. I have grown a lot thanks to these people, but am still a thumb sucker compared to most of them. Welcome on board...you're not alone in being newly born again or open to correction. Believe me, I've been through it all here, but I wouldn't change a thing. Really good bunch of people. I just wish they would
Sorry accidentally pressed button. ( cont). The law has a law giver. The law also has a list of consequences. Eg the law as a concept could be in uk- don't murder or steal ( etc etc) and if you do you wil be caught and placed in prison and if you realise that you accidentally stole something you will probably be let off if you confess and give it back. This is all the law - if you like the legal process.
Have a think of that that term the law actually means in the Galatians 3 context and you may understand how families can have curses.
What is the law? Is it just the 10 commandments ? Is it the law actually the 613 commandments in the ot, plus the temple sacrificial system? Or is the law the last above plus the cursings and blessings eg of Deuteronomy 30. Could the song of Moses with its blessings and cursings ( deut 28-29) explain such things as the holocaust ? ( gal 3 vs 10). When in scripture gal 3 it says-Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: Who exactly was us ? I think we as redeemed Gentiles have a far too narrow concept of the law- he came initially for the Jew. Let me rephrase. The law has a list of do's and donts
Mathew 10 vs 7 ( the commission to disciples). And as ye go, preach saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Hosea 4 vs 12 My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone whoring from under their God. They sacrifice upon the tops of mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks....therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom and your spouses shall commit adultery.

Lisa you have unwittingly bought into a theology that has only been around since the early 1960s in main stream denominations and which flowed from Pentecostalism in the early 1900s. IOW this is all novelty.
You need to learn how to understand the bible o/w you're going to come to all sorts of ridiculous conclusions.
May I suggest you take a look at the following free source of sermons from a great British preacher:

It may be because unregenerate sinners deny sin is what it is. One way is to claim to be born that way. Of course all are born sinners, but the denial requires some kind of justification, so the unregenerate thinks being born with a particular sin tendency makes it not a sin, but "natural." Self deception being what it is, natural is seen as ok. iow, If nature makes it happen, how can it be wrong? One of the problems with this for homosexuals is the ignoring of the fact that "nature" provides all "her children" with the ability to reproduce. So if you're a Christian, the lifestyle is held an abomination. But if you're a naturalist, nature didn't provide the means of this lifestyle reproducing, therefore nature itself is pointing it to extinction, in keeping with survival of the fittest.
Re: things running in families, genes are often seen as reason for overweight. Imo families learn bad eating habits from each other. Perhaps other sins?
Yeah most of the grave clothes came off at salvation- alcohol was a stronghold and also had a terrible familial stronghold of un forgiveness that the lord delivered me from. That's a shocking story ( yuk) and cannot believe that I was unable to see this for myself but rather needed deliverance prayer.
They are wrong- they cannot fix. We are wrong if we try to break away from this stuff in the flesh ( that's simply being strong willed and trying hard-ie works).
HE has delivered us from the curse of the law ( it says so in my bible and I believe that) and by faith in this I can be freed of all sorts. I will give you a testimony ( but please please understand that I have not long been delivered of this so would prefer to speak to you at a later date when I'm sure if you get my drift). My grandfather had a drink problem. For many years I struggled with this- not a physical addiction just knew that the lord didn't want me to drink alcohol. There were many times that I gave it up but was constantly tormented about how much better my life would be if I could socialise etc. My giving up was self effort- a work ????
I had some deliverance prayer based upon the generational curses and had the spirit show me my sin. He had me repent of this sin, and ask forgiveness. I stand now in the truth that I have been delivered of these familial strongholds ( devilish temptations) in Jesus name.
Temptations gone. I smell alcohol and it stinks foul ( rotting foul sin smell). There are spiritual strongholds and satanic temptations and your battle is not down here but in the heavenlies

Well discerned Christopher. The Lord leads you into all truth by his Spirit - no doubting it. The charis people love this sort of thing because it gives them some degree of control over Christians - WE can fix it! WE can take the curse away, WE can get rid of your demons, WE can anoint you with a blessing all the way from Toronto et al... blah blah!
Christopher- if you are a blood bought child of the king of Israel- you must stand upon the fact that Christ has taken this curse from you and your family. When binding up malign forces- they are commanded by the power of Jesus name. They have no control over you because you are not under law ( therefore not cursed) and Christ has taken the curse of the law. Your family are not cursed by your pre salvation sins- remember we fight not against flesh and blood and that our battle is in heavenly places, where the devil is constantly on your case....( accusing you). But these I temptations, which I believe are satanically motivated, are strongholds. I have no proof about this - just a theory as to why homosexuals claim that they were born that way and why certain sins appear to run in families ( addiction, murder, sexual sin etc).
Yes, when I was Charismatic, generational curses were spoken of much. Two generations, I think it was and I held myself as being cursed by the sins of my father and his father. Galatians 3 vs 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us : for it is written, cursed is every one that hangers on a tree. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise ofbthevspirit through faith.
This is not a phraseology to suggest the law was cursed. How can the law be cursed, but because there is a curse upon those that do not keep the law in its entirety. Deut 30 Deut 11 Proverbs 3 Malachi 2 Exodus 20
( the blessings and the cursings of god is a very worthwhile bible study). There are also cursings upon the land ( I believe that incest invokes land curses).
