Obama, Romney: What they believe

Earlier last month, Christ Covenant senior pastor Mike Ross wrote a letter to his congregation about an unprecedented dynamic: “More than any time in my 30 years of pastoral ministry, people are talking to me about whom to vote for,” he wrote.

In a phone interview from his office in Matthews, N.C., Ross said one concern prevails for many in his predominantly conservative congregation of 2,500 members: “They’re really not happy that Mr. Romney is a Mormon.”

Religion hasn’t always been a prominent topic in presidential elections. Indeed, a handful of past presidents have embraced religious movements outside the pale of orthodox Christianity: Presidents John Quincy Adams, Millard Fillmore, and William Howard Taft were Unitarians. Presidents Herbert Hoover and Richard Nixon were Quakers. ...

Yes, you are correct although I seldom reflect upon the exciting part of it, but we should in fact do that. I have always thought that the generation that sees our Lord return is blessed indeed. Although I am a post-triber and understand what that would consist of. As soon as the Lord saves all those that "will" be saved, He will return!
Revelations 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Yes it is indeed exciting Frank, and I even take some interest in news items now, as no matter how ungodly the media folks are, they can't help but report on news around the planet, and as each week goes by, we are seeing more and more evidence of endtime scenarios or at the very least something very big looming up. Noah's Flood was a massive destruction of the world's population bar eight, and that came at a time when the Lord's patience ran out. With a massive increase in evil going on today, which can only be described as satanic, with sodomites being given the privilege of legally marrying one another I do not think the Lord will allow this to go on much longer. The One whose longsuffering is perfect will act, and that without remedy.

Marty, sorry to interrupt with you and John y, but I am curious. Which "whole" nations have ever been converted to Christ?
I'm sorry if there's confusion, but I didn't intend to give the impression of 100%. The Kingdom of Aksum converted to Christ very early in history. Bohemia, after the time of Huss had a brief moment of conversion. Then, let's not forget the majority Protestant nations that are now apostate (e.g. England, Scotland, Neatherlands, Sweden, etc). Also, I didn't say that they stayed Christian, but the impact of Christian ethics and morals has continued to this day (i.e. borrowed capital).

Totally superfluous, really? What about this man makes you think that he'll keep his promises? What about this man makes you think he'll appoint a virtuous man to the Supreme Court? Show me a place in the Scriptures that suggests we should ignore actions, believing unsupported words. If we are faithful, and raise faithful children, we can change the nation in a generation or two. By the work of the Spirit guiding diligent hands, whole nations have been converted to Christ in a few generations, what's changed? Why this spirit of pragmatism? It's just humanistic poison.

And at present Romney is against abortion totally and against homosexuality. Now I know that each of us will either vote or not vote depending on our consciences. But to keep this in perspective we should look at things the way God looks at them. He only had one nation that belonged to Him and He gave them a commandment that they would have no God besides Him. Now am I the only one that noticed there is no “religious” test or even a moral test in our constitution. The following is what God says concerning nations and Revelations 13:7,8 is the way it will turn out. And yes, we aren’t suppose to help it turn out this way, but it will in fact happen.

Isaiah 40:15 Behold, the nations [are] as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

Mike of N.Y., I'll disagree with you one one thing, and perhaps not even that (actually putting up a quotation from the "man of a thousand aliases," is somewhat irritating especially since he supports Identity: A 'Christian' Religion for White Racists, but no one can alter God's timetable. All we can know that Christ will be here before we know it. The Soon, Triumphal Return of Christ

By the way, if you live in Chicago/Hammond area, and want sound teaching here is an example of one church that will give it to you! Christian Fellowship Church.

Tony Cisneros when did you believe Obama was the better choice? q.v., Identity: A 'Christian' Religion for White Racists. Mitt himself belongs to a White man's cult group, We're Christians just like you!--no.

Unfortunately, Mitty, has had exposure to the real KJV 1611 Bible not that heretical work of 1769, and this is what you'll find in a good Bible--

1 Corinthians 9
22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.
23 And I do all things for the sake of the gospel, that I may become a fellow partaker of it.---NASB

However, even Mitty thinks he is following that to the letter, and if there is one thing that he seems true, to it's his Mormon faith, apparently in anything else he follows a twisted version of the Scriptures as given above-a moral chameleon. For one thing, Roman Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses should never ever be considered Christian.

Listen, YESHUAH-GOD IS STILL ON THE THRONE !...
There is no such God as Yeshua-God. The true God is Jesus (Jehovah is Saviour), or Jehovah or Jah or many other names that are found in the Holy Bible. Yeshuah, Yahweh et al. are not found in the Bible and there is no power in those names.

"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." - John 20:31

and if the church's concern for their own people and nation were as much as it is for the 57 and 51, then we would be taking care of the next generation.

we've given Is untold support and finances. they should be free to do what they feel is right for their people.

but who will represent the interests of the american people?

that is what an election is supposed to be about.

we'll feed our kids GMOS, fully participate in darwins evolutionary religion, which our "spiritual" leaders deem as important in their ultimate goal for mother earth, which is depopulation and then cry out in concern that the supreme leader may be socialist. yet, we participate right along with it all.

but we think, if we watch everyone else's affairs, we are pleasing God.

how can a nation elect a president that will watch out for their affairs when they themselves are not?

Israel has over 230 nukes. Iran is not going to get one nuke, lob it at Israel and then smile as they wait for the return volleys.

We are not alone as we have a global military force in NATO (representing 28 countries) to complement the largest most powerful, national military force known to the history of mankind.

Diplomacy would be the works of peacemakers, ditching diplomacy and getting into a global shooting war would be the works of warmongers and folks that have no appreciation of the carnage that would result from it.

You really ought to judge (discern) with righteous judgment.

Obama and company in the State Department had the mindset that if our ambassador (the one recently murdered) was essentially unarmed and defenseless that people would not be provoked into attacking him.

Chamberlain (pre WWII) and company had a similar appeasing mindset with Hitler.

As to Israel, the land belongs to them, it was given to them by God and they have the right to defend themselves from those planning, plotting and preparing to slaughter them.
