Biden vs. Ryan VP Debate to Present Two Different Catholic Worldviews
Thursday's vice presidential debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan at Centre College in Danville, Ky., will focus on domestic and foreign policy issues, while also pitting one self-professed Catholic against another.

The vice presidential debate follows last week's first presidential debate that was focused on the economy, where most critics agreed that GOP candidate Mitt Romney held the edge over President Barack Obama. Many have suggested that this is now Biden's opportunity to push the Obama campaign back on track, and even Ryan has said he expects Biden to launch a fierce attack against him.

"Because they had such a bad debate, Joe Biden is just going to come flying at us," the congressman said, adding that he expects the VP to go after him "like a cannon ball." ...

I hope you are going to get back to me about my question: Did the Holy Spirit reveal to you that if American's repent He will turn back the judgements.

Because how can you illuminate the Gospel to others when you are unable to answer this question?

Regarding John from the UK's prediction, which I agree with, we'll probably have Billary Clinton vs. Romney (if he wins this election)in 2016.

It's a sad fact that every four years towards the end of a term of office for either the president (in the USA) or the prime minister (in the UK), there are not many votes of confidence. So in four years time, I quite expect the population of the USA to be looking in hope for a replacement of President Romney, who will not live up to great expectations.

The system of democracy in both countries is tailored to make your choice less, not more.

Only two sins! What a coincidence.

I have a question for everyone. How do you decide between the two candidates? I keep hearing the complaints about the Obama, Biden ticket support of homosexual marriage, but nothing of the greed and lying of the Romney, Ryan ticket. As a Christian we should want leaders who reflect God's character.
---
How do you choose?
One thing I know is, Romney has not tried to steal what little money I have, so as to pay for dreams of redistribution, but Obama has. So I add greed to his list of characteristics. Romney has in fact created thousands of actual jobs. Obama said he'd create good jobs for the jobless as president. It has not happened. So I add lying to the list. The choice is not difficult.

President Obama's support for homosexual marriage doesn't reflect God's character, neither does Mitt Romney's worshipping of a false god. More troubling with Governor Romney is the fact that he is either a liar or unstable. He was pro abortion then he was against it then he was for it again now he is against it. He said that he was against homosexual marriage yet he pushed it through in Massachusetts. He says that he believes in one god yet also believes that any faithful Mormon male can become the god of hos own world, Both vice president candidates are walking talking endorsements of the head of the ticket character. How do you choose?

Unstated premise: that Obama & Biden aren't greedy or liars. The charge of greed is much easier to make than prove.

But even if I could bring myself to grant such a shaky premise, let me ask, can a murderer (or one who gives aid & comfort to those who do) make restitution for a life as easily as a thief for property, or a liar for deception?

If Romney is elected President, then I hope all his supporters will hold his feet to the fire on his many campaign flips, I mean promises. Don't y'all go to sleep like you did when GW was elected.

Exactly right, Neil. It's a head-scratcher listening to folks say you can't legislate morality, when it is done all the time. What do they think laws against theft, murder, child abuse, etc are?

The pot calls the kettle black. Progressives regulate morality all the time: minimum wage laws, workplace discrimination laws, hate-speech laws, narcotics, health-care mandates, welfare, public education, etc.

What law is not legislated morality?

Of course not, but Mitty wants to give the financial community a license to steal and that effects everyone including me!
If Romney is elected president he will appoint judges to the courts who are Pro Life and against homosexuality. And thus if there is a majority Pro Life judges on the Supreme Court then Roe v Wade abortion ruling will be overturned and abortion will once again become illegal in this country. And if Romney is elected president then he will stop the homosexual agenda from being pushed by once again making homosexuality against the law in this country. The fact is that voting for a third party presidential candidate is useless since a third party presidential candidate stands zero chance of winning and it will just assure that Obama is re elected. Romney would be a better president all around then Obama is. Romney would increase jobs by giving tax breaks to business owners so they can hire more employees

Mike of N.Y., as an Independent, and one for many years, I have voted for both Democrats and Republicans (and even Independents ). Probably some years probably almost a straight Republican ticket. This year that isn't going to happen.

First of all, Mike you living in a dyed-the-wool Blue state and in a sun-burned Red-neck state. Neither of our votes are going to matter except as a protest vote, and might give the candidates a tiny pause no matter which party gets control. So, I'm not going to get very worked up what poli-adverts say or you gentlemen say about politics.

John Y., when did you think you're going to regulate morality? You are still going to have it. Am I happy that these things have been made easier, of course not. Of course not, but Mitty wants to give the financial community a license to steal and that effects everyone including me! Remember verse 10? 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Think who it is you're asking the question. Ryan is a Republican, therefore what he believes doesn't matter to Jim.

Who is a Roman Catholic?. A Catholic is one who thinks the sacraments have efficacy and as such has to reject what makes a Christian, one who believes in, "Only Scripture," "Only Christ," "Only Grace," "Only Faith," and "To God Alone Be Glory".
