America's sheriff Andy Griffith dead at 86

"Andy was a person of incredibly strong Christian faith and was prepared for the day he would be called Home to his Lord," Griffith's wife, Cindi, said in a statement. "He is the love of my life, my constant companion, my partner, and my best friend. I cannot imagine life without Andy, but I take comfort and strength in God's Grace and in the knowledge that Andy is at peace and with God."

According to CNN, the actor has already been buried on the grounds of his North Carolina farm. A funeral spokesperson told CNN that Griffith was laid to rest around 11:30 a.m. ET at the request of his family, and noted that "it had been planned for some time." ...

Well, John, I might let one of their own give them a word to wise to them, and again to rich Republicans, who want to muzzle debate on the topic, In Senate, Republicans Block Debate on ‘Buffett Rule’

I think rich Democrats should be taxed just the same as rich Republicans, which of course they are now. Ah, a Bible verse too for both.

1 Peter 1
17 And if you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each man's work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay upon earth;
18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers,
19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.---NASB

A particularly good verse for rich Republicans.
Got any good verses for "rich Democrats?" I know quite a few who could probably use one.

I will ditto Barry again.

On some other topics, however, I again should elaborate upon, a person doesn't loose his salvation remember the conversation on Calvinism & Arminanism Contrasted?

Also a ques2u, I of course would certainly like Mr. Griffith's support for the ACA, because being against it encourages --more-- abortions.

BBC News wrote:
Fact: Before ACA, pre-natal care wasn't normal women's care. Some 87% of insurance plans on the individual market did not offer maternity or labour and delivery as part of their coverage package.

Women have been going into debt, declaring bankruptcy, ruining their lives; all to give birth.

excerpt from, ...the Affordable Care Act finally makes healthcare affordable and accessible for women..
Now some people don't want insurance to cover the health of mother and child through birth, they just don't want abortions. One of the better ways is to guarantee prenatal care which few states do, but Nebraska goes overboard on,prenatal care for illegals.

OP, you are absolutely correct, this is a public forum and you have every right to post your feelings. My comments were not specifically directed at you and I'm sorry if I made it sound that way. I was basically commenting on John Y's statement about the divorces and someone saying something about it.

We all fall short of the glory of God and we all sin. I don't know how I feel about the health care law, I know I like a lot of the provisions it has in it.

I just know people are quick to judge others because they disagree on some issues, disagreements are good, they make us stronger.

But, please don't think I was talking about your post specifically. God bless you too!!!

I don't know what Mr. Griffith's fruits were. He had a religious album go platinum, but perhaps like Elvis Presley, who apparently remained likeable all of his life, and whose major music awards were for religious songs also, I wouldn't know if he died a Christian.

I already mentioned the url for Divorce on Trial which you might gather from the title is not an endorsement for divorce.

I don't know what Mr. Griffith's fruits were, and nor like a Muslim or a Catholic are his good and bad works balanced on a scale to see if he entered heaven. One has to remember in Christianity one is Exchanging Religion for a Relationship.

First time a Baptist didn't immediately canonize another Baptist upon his death. Perhaps a thorough investigation into his fruit just before his last breath would be in order. Declaring one to be in Heaven prior to knowing his final state of grace is anti-Christ.

By the way, is any woman forced to have an abortion? The law should and could be modified in this instance, but blaming the gun rather than the shooter doesn't quite work. Women will get abortion even if it was illegal.

Luke 12
15 And He said to them, "Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions."---NASB

A particularly good verse for rich Republicans.

Does that mean you think that Obama and his baby aborting, sodomite legalising Democrats are a righteous bunch of Christians who go by the Bible???

See John Y., people weren't worried about those divorces (I guess I approve of you bringing them up, though of course unhappy about hearing about them, q.v., Divorce on Trial). I neither know the reasons for those divorces nor Mr. Griffith's state with God when he died, however.

I will point out some of the history of American health insurance, Give healthcare a chance to evolve, and what the ACA is designed to accomplish, Fact Sheet: What the Health Care Law Can Do For You--What's in effect, what's still to come.

I agree with completely Barry. Also a person's politics should not be used to judge if he's a Christian or not. This would mean no Republicans are Christian!

Where is it written that we have to agree on every single issue political or religious or even moral or we can't like that person, or enjoy some accomplishment in their life. We can disagree and still like on another. I think that is the basis for civility...

Loved Andy Griffith! But my concern with him was his support of Obama--when Obama was running as president. And then his strong support of Obamacare. That was a big mistake--my own opinion.

I liked Griffith in the Andy Griffith Show and in Matlock. The Andy Griffith Show was family oriented and taught morality. And Matlock also taught morality. I suppose some of you Evangelical/Fundamentalist Protestants on here will state that because Griffith was married three times and divorced twice that he is not in Heaven?
