The 17-year-old pop superstar is a Christian and believes there is a higher power guiding everyone's lives, but he doesn't go to church to affirm his faith and instead focuses on praying to God in private.
He told V magazine: "A lot of people who are religious, I think they get lost. They go to church just to go to church. I'm not trying to disrespect them . but for me, I focus more on praying and talking to Him. I don't have to go to church."
The RCC is the only 'true church'? Then why does it twist God's word? I asked you before, what does Jesus mean in Matthew 23:9 when he commanded us to call no one on earth father? Also, can you give us the answer why the RCC directly violates this command by calling a mortal man 'holy father'? Defend your 'religion' using what you claim you gave us...God's word.
Another question, you claim you are born again, how so?

How do you account for these 1,400 years with not so much as a peep about "Sola Fide" until Luther's 16th Century entrance onto the theological stage? Where did Jesus say or even once imply: "Sola Fide" my brethren?
It makes little biblical sense that God would orchestrate 14 centuries of nobody saved (or even the real possibility of salvation), however after circa 1521, 100s and 100s of millions are now saved because we all have access to Luther's "Sola Fide" doctrine.
Not your pope wrote: That's what Joseph Smith said. Until he entered the 19th Century theological stage with his theological novums under arm all were damned. All Roman Catholics were damned until Luther finally came on the scene with his Sola Fide? A likely, but uninteresting, story.

Is God's word the final and only authority?
Do you even understand it isn't about what 'denomination' one adheres to? Salvation is not based on allegiance to any one denomination; if you say otherwise, please provide Scripture to back your claim. If you cannot argue from God's word, quit wasting everyone's time and move on.
for not your pope wrote: You defend a dead religion.
When Luther finally arrived on the theological stage after 1,400 years of utter darkness and "dead religion," he illuminated and gave it life with his Sola Fide? Not so.
This 500 year tale has been told by those in bondage (especially preachers and theologians) to Protestantism.
John 3:5-8 KJV 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
V5 shows the two births. V6 shows the two births. V7 shows the necessity of the second birth. V8 shows that the second birth is not attained by any action of men, but an action of the Holy Ghost, and that, sovereignly.
Nyp, you've been duped into believing that a mere man can control the Holy Ghost, in that when he baptises, the Holy Ghost must bring that sinner to birth spiritually.
You defend a dead religion; if the RCC were the 'true church', then why do they twist God's word and go against the teachings of scripture? I asked you before, what does Jesus mean in Matthew 23:9 when he commanded us to call no one on earth father? Also, can you give us the answer why the RCC directly violates this command?
All sinners are damned, regardless of which 'denomination' they may adhere to, if they are not born from above.
Another question, you claim you are born again, how so?
Not your pope wrote: Thank you. And we always will be.
Nyp, what you understand by "saved by grace" and what I understand by "saved by grace" are two entirely different religions. And there is only one true religion.
I've noticed you haven't tried to convert me yet, so you imagine me to be a Christian already. Whereas I have attempted to shine some light in your direction, which you have ignored.
Thanks for your response, nyp. However, nothing I said addresses the topic of Sola Fide or justification by faith. While justification will always produce sanctification yet there is no sanctification without justification. No work of sanctification will produce justification. I suggest you read Ryle's great work on the topic, available in mp3 format here at Sermon Audio (starting with the 3rd installment) or better yet read it at http://www.gracegems.org/Ryle/h02.htm [AUTHOR]Not your pope[/AUTHOR]Sola Fide trumps pride
If you have further questions about the Roman Catholic Church feel-free to contact Reformed Baptist Pastor Trevor Hammack who is studying at the Catholic Distance University to better understand the truth about the Church rather than the overwhelming rumor, myth and conjecture as are often disseminated on SA.
Catholics were saved by grace before the reformation as we all are still saved today, but with knowledge comes responsability. If the truth becomes evident through devine revelation of the Holy Spirit and we choose not to listen, we then plainly ignore what is in front of our faces and made plainly evident by God himself. Catholicism is rooted in paganism, if you study diligently and seek the truth, it will be revealed to you. The false gods of the Babylonians were intergrated with Christian beliefs and formed the Roman Catholic church (the whore of Babylon who fornicated with the church.) The Roman gods were replaced with "the patron saints of whatever" and thats were the idol worship comes into play like the candles that display a supposed intercessor who was actually once a false Roman god but became cleaverly disguised as some godly saint. I'm not trying to offend Catholics as I was raised one, I just wanted to point out a few facts I learned through study and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Sola Fide trumps pride. According to this, Luther's Circa 1521 "theological novum" (Pastor and theological scholar, Alister McGrath), even pride cannot keep you out of Heaven.
BTW: How were Roman Catholics saved before Luther walked on the theological stage carrying his Sola Fide under arm?
The Scripture is full of "one another" commands, love one another, be kindly affectionate one to another, admonish one another, bear one another burdens, forgive one another, comfort one another, exhort one another, pray for one another, confess your faults one to another, etc. We are commanded to obey them that have the rule over us as they watch for our souls. Hard to do all if you are only sitting at home watching your favorite preacher on TV or "worshiping the Lord" in the middle of the lake fishing or just enjoying private prayer time. The believers in Acts enjoyed church so much they went everyday! Unless one is providentially hindered, they should not forsake the assembling of themselves together. Only pride would make one think he or she could purposefully neglect the teaching/preaching of the Word, the fellowship of saints, and the duties of corporate worship and not hinder their spiritual growth. Church membership does not earn anyone a home in heaven, as it is not by works of righteousness that we have done that brings salvation. However when we walk in the light as He is in the light and hunger and thirst after righteousness, we will find church attendance a very profitable means of grace for growing in the Lord that should not be neglected.
The bible clearly tells us in Hebrews "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." I believe this scripture clearly states that we must meet together in unity for the sake of Christ. It is imperative that we stay united in service to the kingdom, we become spiritually weak when we don't fellowship with one another, in my opinion we need to attend service to be capable of walking in the spirit and in order to grow corporately as one body.
Lack of desire for regular Christian fellowship and corporate worship IS a problem if it lingers. It could be an indication that he's not really saved yet.
Failing to avail oneself of the so-called "means of grace" seldom if ever means they are not needed, but rather unwanted.
Not your pope wrote: There are two ends of this spectrum: (a.) Bieber's "no church required" (via a superficial reading of the the Bible) and (b.) the Reformers' "necessity of the church" (discovered through a deeper understanding of the biblical text):
Where does the news article state Bieber "doesn't need church" because he practices "a superficial reading of the the Bible"?
Oh well. It's much better to discuss a teen idol's prayers to God; who was born out of wedlock, accused by a fan of fathering an illigitimate child, whose unwed parents are fighting for custody (his money), told by his parents to "use protection" with his new girlfriend, than to discuss real issues which face real Christians in these dark and Godless days.
And then there is nyp hijacking yet another thread for his pet hobby horse.... Rome.
Now all we need is TLC to spam this thread with some all caps rants and railings.
