Dawkins: Jesus Would Have Been An Atheist
In a recent interview with the The Guardian’s John Harris, Dawkins when discussing Jesus Christ, said:

“I wrote [an] article called ‘Atheists for Jesus,’ I think it was… Somebody gave me a t-shirt: ‘Atheists for Jesus.’ Well, the point was that Jesus was a great moral teacher and I was suggesting that somebody as intelligent as Jesus would have been an atheist if he had known what we know today.”

THE 66-BOOKS OF THE+HISTORIC+AUTHORIZED+"KING-JAMES"+HOLY+BIBLE:

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH IN ISRAEL WOULD HAVE BEEN, AND STILL IS, THE ALMIGHTY GOD, GRADE-A, THEIST OF ULTIMATE "BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS" !

"BUT WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE HIM (ALMIGHTY GOD): FOR HE THAT COMETH TO (ALMIGHTY) GOD MUST BELIEVE THAT HE IS; AND THAT HE IS A REWARDER OF THEM THAT DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM."--HEBREWS 11:6 !

"YEA, A MAN MAY SAY (NOTICE, IT DOES NOT SAY 'GOD MAY SAY' &-OR 'GOD HAS SAID'), THOU HAST FAITH, AND I HAVE WORKS: SHOW ME THY FAITH WITHOUT THY WORKS, AND I WILL SHOW THEE MY FAITH BY MY WORKS." --JAMES 2:18 !

"BUT WILT THOU KNOW, O VAIN MAN, THAT (MAN'S--NOT GOD'S) FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD ?"--JAMES 2:20 !

"FOR AS THE BODY (OF MAN--NOTICE; IT DOESN'T SAY 'THE BODY' [OF GOD]: THAT IS, 'THE BODY' [OF CHRIST]) WITHOUT THE SPIRIT (OF MAN--NOT 'THE SPIRIT' [OF GOD]) IS DEAD,

SO (MAN'S--NOT GOD'S) FAITH WITHOUT (MAN'S--NOT GOD'S) WORKS IS DEAD ALSO."--JAMES 2:26 !

Be careful now!! The phrase "most Reformed Baptists" is far too comprehensive a statement here.
Far to many Arminians in the Baptist organisation to say it thus.
BTW You papists love your strawmen don't you!

A real Reformed Baptist writing on the 1689 Confession says;
"This ancient document is the most excellent epitome of the things most surely believed among us. It is not issued as an authoritative rule or code of faith, whereby you may be fettered, but as a means of edification in righteousness. It is an excellent, though not inspired, expression of the teaching of those Holy Scriptures by which all confessions are to be measured. We hold to the humbling truths of God's sovereign grace in the salvation of lost sinners. Salvation is through Christ alone and by faith alone."
(C.H.Spurgeon)

Reformed Presbyterians faithfully recite the Nicene Creed but ignore nuance differences about Justification, thus are losing the Reformed faith. Meanwhile, most Reformed Baptists, who look to the Bible Alone as the sole-source for faith and practice, would never recite the Nicene Creed and have an inherent visceral disdain for the 1689 LBCF and other man-made inventions.

On dual slippery slopes away from Calvinism, at the current rate of descent, in how many months will imputation be buried under the sands of time? Also, if imputation is totally required for salvation ("The article upon which the Church stands or falls" -Luther), why doesn't Protestant TV discuss it?

In fact, there are several books currently in print by prominent Calvinist authors merely describing 4, 5 or more views of imputation but unwilling to state which is the correct view -- the correct article. If the Reformation can't even keep straight which is "The (correct) article" hasn't their church all but fallen?

And when it falls, which religion (or not) will the faithful be attracted to?

To elaborate Mike's post, appealing to numbers not only commits the Bandwagon Fallacy, it also pleads an unverifiable claim: how do we know all those "subscribers" actually believed the Gospel? Maybe they did so merely out of expedience - it was physically dangerous during the pre-modern era to deny it, just as it is now dangerous to deny Islam in certain countries. We can never know on this side of Eternity.

Anyway, the Apostle's Creed & the Nicene Creed, while certainly enumerating important preliminary historical facts, do not define how one is justified, whether by faith alone (imputed), or faith+works (infused). While Nicene says "for us men and for our salvation, [Christ] came down from heaven," the preposition "for" can be understood several ways, so at best, this formulation is inadequate. Hence the antithetical language on Justification offered by the Council of Trent on one hand, & the Reformation confessions on the other. These cannot be reconciled.

As a side-note, our Presby brethren should know better than to recite these ambiguous Creeds in worship w/o clarification, for the importance of justification is ignored.

Mr Dawkins is just like any other unsaved person out there, many whom have denied God and the Christ have by the Grace of God been converted. we should pray for him, pray for our Heavenly Father to convict him of sin unto his salvation....

Mr Dawkins is deluded in his position, he was recently invited to appear on "Revelation television" his office asked with whom he would be debating.

Once he found out he would be up against Christian men of high intelectual standing he declined the invitation.

This just proves he is a self publicist whom is out only to make money from the easily deluded.

So brothers and sisters, let us pray sincerely for Mr Dawkins salvation as we would pray for a family member.

God Bless

No surprise here.

Atheists and evolutionists frequently overstate the effects of environment on the beings that live within it.

Dawkins is assuming Jesus (presumed by Dawkins himself to be a mere man--and/or highly evolved animal) would have adapted to today's apostate culture by becoming apostate Himself.

Problem here is that the Bible is full of examples of people whose faith persisted and even thrived during times of great apostasy (Lot in Sodom, 100 prophets and 10,000 believers in Ahab and Jezebel's Israel, etc.).

Do billions of subscriptions to a creed determine its entire truthfulness? Do billions of people fit the description of "few" that find their way unto life, as stated by the Lord?

After reading the biblical text and the Nicene Creed (the Gospel in a nutshell), does Dawkins really think that Jesus doesn't know that He's God from God, Light from Light, being of one substance of the Father, He became man, born of the Virgin Mary ... ascended into Heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, from whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead? As a British schoolboy who went on to earn a Ph.D., wouldn't he have this memorized by now? It's got to be hard to be an atheist when this bibically-grounded 1,600 year old Creed is staring you in the face teaching you otherwise.

Dawkins is a fool - The Bible says so...

Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

And repeated at...

Psalm 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
