Zimmerman found not guilty of murder in Trayvon Martin's death
When he learned his fate, a quiet Zimmerman had little visible reaction. His face was mostly expressionless. He turned and shook the hand of one of his attorneys before sitting back down, only openly smiling after court was adjourned. His parents, Robert and Gladys Zimmerman, were seated nearby, but Martin's parents were not in the courtroom.

Defense attorney Mark O'Mara said a short time later that he and his team were "ecstatic" with the verdict.

"George Zimmerman was never guilty of anything except protecting himself in self defense," O'Mara said.

The response from NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous struck a far different tone. ...

For those of you who take Zimmerman's statements as gospel and also talk about cities of refuge, your own words convict you. Zimmerman never said he fired his weapon by accident, he claimed self defense. Accident and so called self defense are not the same thing. The bible makes no space for killing Anyone unless it was expressly Gods will to punish some heathen nation. Are u willing to go so far as to say Zimmerman was carrying out gods will? Surely you should then be sent to an insane asylum. Killing someone is murder, plain and simple. There is no need for evidence in the court of common sense. We have a dead body people!! Sadly our courts and laws don't make sense

A strange thing happened on face book tonight..my nephew put a picture of trayvon on it and he looked much older than the pictures I've seen and he had tatoos allover his arm and some on his face..his head looked like it was shaved..and the comment was,"I've never seen Trayvon looking liike this". I was going to comment back with me either..the minute I did it would not allow me to and then the picture just disappeared! On the front page of our newspaper it showed a picture of Slmmerman and this 12 yr old kid underneath and headlines saying he was acquitted. Strange... !

Only God and Zimmerman know what exactly happened because Zimmerman shot and murdered the other person involved! I'm waiting to hear Trayvon was guilty of some crime for walking down the street eating candy and drinking soda pop! We do know Zimmerman knew the area but says he had to get out the car to see the name of the road?! Yeah right.

John for JESUS,
I should clarify my statements. By your judging Zimmerman as a murderer assumes that you know more than the police, investigators, attorneys, and all of the jurors. You do not. Plus, just because you think Zimmerman's actions were murderous doesn't make it murder. If you are FOR JESUS you should ground your beliefs in His word and not your emotions and the fervor created by an irresponsible SECULAR media. This case is tragic and stirs our hearts, but let us not forsake our professed faith to fall in line with ths world.

By that standard you have no grounds to presume he is innocent or judge me to be wrong for that matter. I guess we can't know whether or not anybody is a murderer because we don't know their heart. I tend to believe if you were to chase down some kid and cause a fight resulting in you whipping out your gun and fatally shooting them you are a murderer!

J4J, that is pure speculation on your part that he followed Trayvon, his story is that Trayvon attacked him, WERE YOU THERE, only God and Mr. Zimmerman know the truth of that matter. You are may be ignorant of other facts NOT put out in mainstream media,

"There were at least eight burglaries in the 14 months before Zimmerman's encounter with Martin. Numerous media accounts admit that "most" of these were committed by black males. I'm waiting to hear about a single crime at Twin Lakes that was not committed by a black male."

You can find details at http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2013-07-10.html#read_more (READ THE ARTICLE)

Keep that in mind knowing that Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch guy.

Al Sharpton, et al, made this a big race issue, MSNBC even put out a doctored 911 call (they later had to retract) to make it look like Zimmerman racially profiled the youth.

It is a tragedy that a young man lost his life. It is a tragedy that this will further divide our country along racial lines.

I don't know, NONE OF US DO, if Zimmerman's account is completely truthful, the jury did their job based on the evidence presented and made a decision. Even legal experts said based upon facts presented that would be their verdict.

John for JESUS,
How can you use that name while making the absolute judgment upon Zimmerman that he is a murderer? How do you know he is a murderer unless you are God yourself? This is rhetorical because we all know you are not and have no grounds to make such a judgment. You are using the LORD's name in vain, plain and simple.

I guess you are right, it was far better for Zimmerman to murder the 17 year old than to suffer a little hurt pride by getting beat up by a kid. Why was he even in that situation? Oh yeah, he left his vehicle to go chase a child down for doing nothing wrong. Where is there any evidence that Trayvon deserved to get attacked?

The problem I have noticed here and other areas of society is dangerous assumption and gross ignorance of the word of God. We allow the media to start, define, and conclude the conversation on these tragic events without attempting to use our God given ability of logic and rational as well as HIS word. In the Old Testament God had the Israelites set up cities of refuge for those who took another's life so they, like Mr. Zimmerman has been treated, will have their day in court to sort out the events to determine if the killer committed murder or not. The jury, based on EVIDENCE or lack thereof, acquitted Mr. Zimmerman of all charges. To make judgments based in emotion, passion, or the subjective reasonings of the media is neither just or biblical. We, as CHRISTIANS, should pray for the Martin AND Zimmerman family and not follow the ways of a divided, dead world.

Mike of N.Y., it's good that you noticed that!

This seems to be the heart of the matter.

Chelsea J. Carter and Holly Yan, CNN wrote:
Former Los Angeles County prosecutor Loni Coombs emphasized that jurors did not find Zimmerman innocent; rather, they found him not guilty. There's a difference, she told CNN's Don Lemon.

"They're not saying he's innocent, they're just saying they couldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt, and therefore the law gave them no choice but to write 'not guilty,'" Coombs said

It is a shame that we all don't walk with Christ like the parents of Trayvon. All they wanted was a trial. For those people who believe they shouldn't have expected one SHAME on you. All they wanted was a trial . If we now live in a land where children are shot and the answer is oh well stand your ground to bad for you then we really are heading down a path of sin. God help those who believe the WORLDS laws are an excuse to take a life. The anger of grab your gun Christians frighten me more than all the rest of the violence all put together. I will not accept killing as an answer and I pray God is tired of the violence brings His hand down powerfully against the hardened hearts of America

One has to wonder at the publicity surrounding this single case, even if it had turned out to be murder. No one seems have any interest in the over 200 homicides so far this year in Chicago.

This essa travesty from the beginning...Not the verdict, but the media invited fervor around it that lead to this trial. Florida stand your ground law protected Zimmerman, therefore the trial should have never taken place. This was a kangaroo court trying to make Zimmerman a scapegoat for the atrocities done against people of color. It is conspicuously hypocritical of some who would cry "injustice" and "disgusting" in the shooting death of Trayyvon, but are mum on or in support of abortion (murder) on demand when it comes to the most vulnerable of any color. God help our insane world...Your will be done nonetheless.
