Pastor Rick Warren Hospitalized, Awaiting Diagnosis

Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church was hospitalized Tuesday after experiencing pain in his arms.

The renowned Southern California pastor will be undergoing a series of tests to determine what the cause is though the doctor's "diagnostic guess" is that he has an inner ear virus that may have spread to the nerves in his neck and down his arms.

"[P]ray for a quick and accurate diagnosis, a fast remedy," he asked his megachurch in an email Tuesday late afternoon.

Those are excellent questions, Phoebe.

By "aging" I was referring to biological aging. Which ultimately would be the cause of human death even if cures could be found for all diseases. You're right, this has been the subject of historical legend, but it's my hope that it's a topic which will one day be fully addressed in science as well.

The aging of the sun (stellar aging) is just another reason why humanity must learn to put this world in order. When the sun dies this world will die with it unless a means of escape can be found. Humanity is really the best hope life on Earth has when that day comes.

"Broken" may have been a poor choice in words, as it does imply that it was once whole. Maybe a better word would have been "incomplete," meaning that nature can be indifferent or even hostile to our well being.

"The world is broken and only we can fix it." Mike.

Who broke it?

I am so glad men will never be able to 'take control' of nature. Human 'control' seems to be the root of the problem.
A cure for aging? This motif is found in quite a lot of myths and legends and fictious writings. Is there anything at all that doesn't age? Even the sun is aging Mike. What would be the point of eternal life on earth if everything else carried on aging?

Science cannot even cure the common cold.. YET! It's only a matter of time, my friend. The same argument could have been made a few years ago about the chicken pox, but we all know how that one turned out. Science beat your powerless, fictitious God. Hallelujah!

Oh pester Mike you are quite a comedian!!!

Science cannot even cure the common cold or even hiccups.

Man's so called science is mans simplistic speculation with what he cannot even begin to understand or comprehend for that matter.

If only you understood what sin is and how dominant a force it is over your every molecule thought and choice - perhaps then you might have an inkling worth listening too. But....!!

The virtually complete ignorance of truth contained in the reprobate demonstrates that their science of which they have sinful pride in, is tardy hypotheses at best. By the time man gets to any minor progress in the future whether in medical science or even how best to feed himself - man will have the next war to destroy himself.

Romans 1:21 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools"

Without GOD man collectively is just a bunch of fools. Fact.

I guess you are dealing with your biggest problem, then? That of not being right with God.
And don't say, "there is no God". One has already quoted two Bible verses which explain what God thinks of people who say such a thing.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved...." Acts 16:31
We must all appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ one day. Think on these things, my friend.
Can't stop. Au Revoir.
This is what's called an ad hominem argument. You're not right with the Purple People Eaters from Mars. You better start believing in them or they'll sneak into your bedroom while you sleep and nibble off your toes. I don't worry about things for which there is no evidence, and neither should you.

Pastor Mike, must be a Unitarian/Universalist, How do I witness to Unitarian Minister?. Or someone still stuck in the Old Testament,

Ecclesiastes 1
14 I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind.
15 What is crooked cannot be straightened, and what is lacking cannot be counted.---NASB

Matthew Henry wrote:
...Solomon tried all things, and found them vanity. He found his searches after knowledge weariness, not only to the flesh, but to the mind. The more he saw of the works done under the sun, the more he saw their vanity; and the sight often vexed his spirit. He could neither gain that satisfaction to himself, nor do that good to others, which he expected. Even the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom discovered man's wickedness and misery; so that the more he knew, the more he saw cause to lament and mourn. Let us learn to hate and fear sin, the cause of all this vanity and misery; to value Christ; to seek rest in the knowledge, love, and service of the Saviour.
A Purpose Driven Refugee.

His tombstone should read, "here lies the remains of a delusional money-grubbing peddler of fiction." Your life won't have true purpose until you realize that humanity is the custodian of life's purpose. Your religion may give meaning to the so-called afterlife, but it makes this life a complete farce. This life would be much better if people would start facing their problems instead of fooling themselves with false reassurances from fantasies for which there is no proof.

Your grandmother died because we haven't yet found the cure for aging and cancer, not because "Jesus decided to take her home." She's not in Heaven, she's rotting in the ground. I'm sorry. If you don't like it, forget the clergy, what you need is an application to medical school. The world is broken and only we can fix it. There's Nobody coming to the rescue. However, that's not a problem because we have the power to take control of nature. We've already had the down payment in the form of the technologies we already have. What has religion given us for a down payment? Nothing. Religion has never once been proven to do a thing. So get excited about science and forget Rick Warren's feel-good nonsense.

Humanity through science will one day conquer the grave and bring a meaningful life to all. Amen!
