CEO to Workers: I May Fire You if Obama Wins
David Siegel, the owner of Westgate Resorts, sent a surprising email to his employees Monday. It said that if President Barack Obama wins re-election and raises Siegel's taxes, he will have to lay off workers and downsize his company - or even shut it down.

"If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current President plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company," he wrote. "Rather than grow this company I will be forced to cut back. This means fewer jobs, less benefits and certainly less opportunity for everyone."

In a version of Romney's "47 percent" remarks, Siegel added that "people like me who made all the right decisions and invested in themselves are being forced to bail out all the people who didn't. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed 42 years of my life for." ...

Bill shares his thoughts on corporate executives who — enabled by the Citizens United ruling — strong-arm their employees to vote as they say, from the Murray Energy CEO who reportedly made his workers spend unpaid time at a pro-Romney rally; to David and Charles Koch, who sent anti-Obama and pro-Romney materials to the 45,000 employees of their subsidiary Georgia Pacific; to ASG Solutions boss Arthur Allen, who sent an intimidating email to his employees. Learn more about corporate executives who make politics their company’s new bottom line.
from, Bill Moyers Essay: When Bosses Push Their Politics.

In the 19th century they use to give beer and money for people to vote a certain way, now it has degraded to firing people who don't vote a certain way!

A corporation is started as legal protection for those who are risking their time and their assets to get a business going. They have no guarantee of success. They are not started to give people jobs, or job benefits. They are there to earn the person who is risking their capital a return on their investment, otherwise known as profit. Job creation is an outgrowth of that goal if you are successful. When you increase the cost of doing business, the owner must deal with that cost in one of three ways. Either lowering out payments to investors (dividends) and risk losing their money, raising the cost of the product or service, which usually diminishes customers, or laying off workers. Obamacare is nothing more than a HUGE tax on business and the middle class.

If there are layoffs(and there will be if it is not stopped) the president and his democratic colleagues are to be thanked.

One of my previous landlords did the same thing. He was politically conservative and outspoken enough to admonish his renters that if the Democrat candidate won, taxes would likely go up, and he would pass the additional cost from his higher taxes onto them in the form of rent increases.

How is it that on a Christian website we see greed celebrated and God's ownership of everything denied? I see a bunch of post saying you're right, where are the post that God is the one who gives the power to get wealth.. Where is the preacher's who understand that the laws that God gave Israel reflected his character. That God himself commanded charity. The first workfare program I have heard of is in the Bible. Israel had form of socialistic capitalism

The 1935 Nat'l Labor Relations Act, so far as I know, hasn't been repealed, so where does your supposed union "destruction" come from? How about foreign workers willing to accept lower pay?

Sure generousity is a duty implied by Leviticus (strange for a Dispy to cite OT Law authoritatively), but it is a popular liberal fallacy to infer that charity thus may be legally *compelled* by the State. Compulsory charity is absurd, a contradiction in terms. By definition it is up to the donor to decide, never the recipient or a 3rd party.

Colossians 3
5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
6 For it is on account of these things that the wrath of God will come,---NASB

Leviticus 19
9 'Now when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest.
10 'Nor shall you glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the needy and for the stranger. I am the LORD your God.---NASB

Since the plutocracy in the country has done a masterful job of destroying the unions (something neither I nor my family were members of) where are the leavings now, Neil?.

Right on, Scott, it was great that the secret ballot is the law of the land! I wonder when that'll be appealed?
