Why Evangelical Leaders Love Pope Benedict XVI (And His Resignation)

Pope Benedict XVI, who announced his resignation Monday after eight years as head of the Roman Catholic Church, will leave a legacy of strong theology, cooperation with evangelicals and a hardline conservative stance on social issues, evangelical leaders and observers say.

As pope, the German Joseph Ratzinger championed a "culture of life" on issues such as abortion, encouraged the "new evangelism" of the church, and issued the first papal tweet. Benedict, 85, cited age and deteriorating strength as reasons for his resignation.

Benedict stepped into a difficult role as an intellectual and administrator following John Paul II, the first "celebrity pope," said Carl Trueman, professor of church history at Westminster Theological Seminary. ...

Keep on supporting the evil unBiblical and idolatrous organisation if you will. But don't forget that is the road to hell not a Christian journey. God proved that in HIS Reformation in the 16th century.
I'm sorry you can't see the truth.
"1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 2Peter 2."
For centuries the true Christian has perceived these warnings apply to the Roman Catholic fallacy.
I support the organization only to the extent to acknowledge that there are Christians in that Church. I do have concerns about their doctrine, primarily their idolatry and veneration of Mary

Steve. Just in case you haven't seen the light on this point. It is not about the denomination with the least amount of errors. - - do not - do idolatry and blasphemy which the historic range and extent of the RCC has demonstrated itself to be culpable and unBiblical of.
You have been literally supporting unBiblical idolatry and blasphemy as well as heresy in your continued support of the RCC. A Christian cannot do that!!
As Jesus has stated....
"He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad." Matt 12:30.
Matt 12 was dealing with an accusation far different than what we are discussing. A more accurate analogy would be

Luke 9:50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Mark 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

Mark 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

because the RCC and Protestants declare that Jesus is indeed the Christ. Perhaps instead of letting your wicked flesh deceive you, you can read the Bible and with the help of the Almighty maybe live up to that Sola Scriptura name you blemish?

Here is a quote from the internet concerning those who adhere to emergent church truth. See if this matches SteveRs comments. The only truth he adheres to is the denial of any absolute truth.

This fellow is only trying to get everybody riled up. An emergent troll.

"contradiction in spirituality is not only acceptable, but welcome. Augustine's dictum, "All truth is God's truth" has been altered to mean, "Everybody's truth is God's truth." It all depends on how you look at it and of what social group you are a member. . ."

One thing for certain SteveR, neither this Pope, the one before, nor any Catholic priest is called to be a pastor, The Scandal of the Catholic Priesthood, unless they make a Pilgrimage From Rome.

We do have to say good riddance to the Unholiness, who was before this one, who pushed The New Catholic Evangelization also. It's a pity that the former one didn't renounce the Romish Church but had the "hots" Mary, The Biblical, Catholic, and Occult View of Mary (PDF), and this present Pope also pointed out his idolterious belief in Mary, Hail Mary? (PDF).

So, goodbye and good riddance Benny 16, we would wish you would become Christian and renounce the whole nonsense, q.v., The Pope and the Papacy, but sadly we don't expect that to happen.

Delight in the law of the Lord!

1 Corinthians 11:14 - Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

(The preceding is not a condition of salvation but merely a requirement for sanctification.)

Big difference is that most protestant churches, at least creedally, have salvation by "grace only" through "faith only" in "Christ only" right on the button. Without this, one cannot be saved!

Apparently, this CRUCIAL difference, is not one that a ravening wolf like you cares to admit.

And since when is condemning what is clearly heretical teaching tantamount to persecution? This is almost as devilish as the homosexuals coining "homophobia" as a label for those who revile their lifestyle.

I'm always amazed at the eternal anathemas pronounced upon God's people (who believe in salvation by grace through faith alone in Christ alone) by the RCC council of trent.
An attack on the biblical faith of God's people is an attack on God himself. The work of His Spirit is to bring people to new birth, and faith in Jesus Christ as their substitute, and repentance of sins, turning from them to God.
Steve, you should consider whose side you are on and act accordingly.
The sacramental (works) salvation of the RCC is incompatable with the grace salvation of true biblical believers.
John UK
It appears my dear brother that someone wants to side step your questions and/or any honest denouciations (spelling?) of those who would BIBLCIAL examine and object to RC false teachings.

But as sad as that may be, Praise God! That he has told us the Truth in Scripture and His word is forever settled in heaven and He will make good on His word and promise, whether or not men believe it.

If you understand the Catholic persecution of Reformeers for their faith was wrong, why do you want to follow in the same wicked sin?
Why do you accuse me of that?!

Scripture is very, very clear on what heresies are.

God says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved".

The RCC says, "No - insufficient!" To which I say, " "

Steve, I find it amazing that Almighty God can save me and justify me and adopt me into his family, and then I discover that RCC dogma does not accept that, but pronounces an anathema on me, and claims that the RCC is the only true church. As do the Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and a whole host of other heretics.

Please do not expect me to be nice to the Roman Catholic System, which I believe to be not only in error, but to be satanically inspired.

As gently as I might don't imagine you are in agreement with me.

Idolatry is far worse than a cross handing around a young man's neck. It is a sin, an iniquity of those who hate God.

The very fact you can jump to find fault with the young man in Why I'm a Christian

While at the same time being quick in "defending" the False Blasphemous Idolatrous Religion of the RCC, as those who would dare expose her for the Religious Harlot and False Religious Institution she is, who has persecuted the genuine saints of God and others who refused to bow to her and her Popes, labeling it 'endless venom', speaks Hypocrisy loud and clear, even if you might be so blind you refuse to see it for yourself.

John 3:19-21

Yes, 2 Timothy 3 does speak volumes on this matter of those who practise a form of godliness and deny the power thereof. You ought to pay attention to your own post.
