Student Body President at Northwest Christian University Denounces Christian Faith, Declares Himself Atheist

The president of the student body at Northwest Christian University publicly announced that he has been a longtime atheist despite his enrollment at the Oregon-based college and is now urging Christians to practice what they preach by becoming accepting of those who do not fit their same "pattern."

Eric Fromm, 21, published an article last week in his school's news website as his way of denouncing his former Christian beliefs. He says he was an atheist before enrolling as a student but decided to attend the 600-student university because of his interest in its communication program.

"I was baptized Lutheran, and raised Methodist, but as time went on I slowly came to the conclusion that God wasn't real," Fromm wrote in his article. "I knew that the school catered to Christian thinking, so before I enrolled, I visited the campus to make sure that the chapel services were comfortable enough that I ...

John Y... Steve r... Barbarians? I don't want my wife to be educated? Were is the nonsense coming from? John Y... You said a college degree was NECESSARY for a stay at home mom to medically take care of her kids. Because I tell you it's not necessary I'm a barbarian? Examine yourselves. Are you offended? Remember.. Paul the apostle counted his great education as rubbish compaired to knowing Christ. With that statement.. Is he demonizing education?
I don't like this name calling, but as Paul said..."you forced me to it".

Good day sirs!( insert winking smiley face here)

So if a group of unregenerates build a Bible College in your town and call it Steve Ah Bible College, you will accept it as Christian?

Very sad! Very gullible!

1. Not at a university.

2. Eh?

3. So why don't you listen to those clever-dickies and come out of the RCC?

4. Incorrect.

Considering that the barbarians on here believe that a college degree is not needed then they must not allow their wives to seek medical care from a woman doctor and nurse.

Educated women are needed throughout the Church too. Our Pastors wife is college educated, they MET in college. Our Choir director is college educated, even our Organist is college educated. Several of the Sunday School teachers are educators by profession. Our Ladies Aid director is college educated, she is in charge of an essential ministry. Im not counting the college educated women the make up the Body of MY PEOPLE.

Question for the board barbarians, do you deny your wives the opportunity to seek medical care from Woman Doctors & nurses?

Or is seeking medical care from those you hypocritically view as ungodly acceptable?

Well, good for you, Will. You sound like someone who has it together and I hope you hold it all nice and tight. No matter how energized you feel now, the road won't be easy so I hope you always keep that spirit; staying nice and strong. When I mention the road not being being easy, I mean when it comes to trial, tribulation, and temptation...nobody is immune. What's encouraging about you is that you were saved early enough not to have to deal with all of the baggage that one has to overcome when it happens later in life, so you are a step ahead. Sounds like things are going well for you and I hope you always keep your eyes on the prize when things don't go so well at times.
I'll second those thoughts, Chris!

The devil hates the gospel and gospellers. So Will, if the Lord has called you to do that sort of work, expect a lot of hassle, but also expect the Lord to sustain you through all things. As far as I'm concerned, there is no better thing than to hold forth the Word of Life to needy sinners.

No!
My wife is doing just fine with a high school diploma. And more importantly with the Lords help.
And just what is wrong with a stay at home mother having a college degree in Nursing? Having a college degree is very important even for a stay at home mother. And it is especially important for a man to have a college degree to get a high paying job. SF from Texas, There is nothing wrong with a woman who is a stay at home mother getting a college degree in Nursing.

John Y, education can happen without college. Books have knowledge in an abundance. A woman just needs to visit a library, Amazon, or the likes and pick up a book on first aid, herbs, etc and she'll receive enough information to take care of her family-seeking outside help for her families health when necessary (ex:broken arm).

I have mixed feelings towards college. I went for 3 years, and was vexed with the filthy conversation of my classmates the whole time. I got saved roughly half way into college (praise God) and I was pretty much an outcast from then on as I didn't want anything to do with their wicked behavior. The psychology class, humanities class, and literature class were extremely secular, but I happen to know the truth thanks to my King James Bible, so discerning the trash they were teaching was never a problem. However, had I not gone to school I wouldn't have the job I have now, or the opportunity to get a better paying job with more experience, so like I said I have mixed feelings. Concerning women, I feel their place is to be a keeper of the home, like Scripture says (which is not a bad thing, but a blessing) so college is unnecessary. Obviously, for single mother's, the situation is different due to dead beat men, which abound these days.

Titus 2:4-5 "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husband's, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."

Will... God bless you for your honesty. It sure seems you have the right intentions. If the worldly college experience doesn't taint you, you would certainly be of the 1% that do go to college. Please... Above all, stay humble my friend. Isaiah 66. In closing I must say... I still don't want my kids to go to college.
