FAU student says he was suspended for not 'stepping on Jesus'

A student at Florida Atlantic University's campus in Davie says he couldn't believe what he and his fellow students were asked to do by their instructor three weeks ago.

Ryan Rotela, a junior from Coral Springs at FAU, said what happened was an insult to his intelligence.

He said the instructor in his Intercultural Communications class at FAU told everyone in the class to take out a piece of paper, write the word JESUS on it in bold letters, and then put the paper on the floor and stomp on it. ...

Ben, there is a difference between a Roman Catholic, and a Christian who attends a Roman Catholic Church.

If a person attending a RCC is a true believer, they will be persecuted.

Galatians 4:29 KJV
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

If a person who is a true believer attends a RCC, they will be pronounced anathema, in accordance with Trent.

If a person believes the RCC doctrines, they are not a Christian by definition.

It is impossible to "be" a Roman Catholic, and a Christian at the same time.

But it "is" possible for God to call his elect to himself, while they are Catholic. But you see, if God speaks to his child, calling him to Christ, he will also continue to speak to him, and call him out of a place which will harm his spiritual life.

Have you heard God's voice?

Helps, thanks you very much. I only have so much patience with utter nonscense before the claws come out. Thanks for bringing me back down and stopping me from adding even more to the mix.
These people are so deluded and it angers me when they spew all of this kind of trash without ever giving examples. I try to understand their posts but they make no scense to me no matter how hard I try to interpret them.

I am not able to answer that question, beneath. Can you?

What I do know is that I was converted by God's power and, without even having read the Bible, I could have walked into any church in the country and discerned whether or not they were preaching the true gospel message of salvation through the cross of Christ, repenting of sin and believing on him alone. The Bible says that "whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved". I called on the name of the Lord, being convicted of my sins, and I was saved. This salvation was a real experience involving a profound inner change, a renewed nature, being reconciled to God, whereby I knew him as my Father who had saved me and given me eternal life.

John Yurich has expressed a similar testimony, after his response in his brother's evangelical nondenominational church (notice NOT Catholic). It is up to him to "make his calling and election sure", as the Bible teaches us to do.

Hi Chris

You will notice that these RCC trolls come to the surface every now and then. Allen Schwarb was the name of one of them, though he kept on changing his moniker. He apparently trained in a reformed seminary and then converted to Rome, and came along here thinking to make a few easy disciples.

Then in recent times we've had others too. I could go through some of the monikers, but it would serve no purpose. Let's just say that their mo is always the same. Hit and run. Accuse the people on these forums of being unloving, doctrinally wrong, and at worst demonic bunch of abusers. Of course, coming as they do from the RCC they'd know all about demonic abuse, and they're on here to dish some out to those who don't belong to their circles.

Best thing..... Don't be baited by these trolls. Keep calm, civil and use the opportunity to learn. Remember confrontations with the devils disciples is good for sanctification. Its a form of persecution, so be glad!

Actually, I'm out...this person doesn't have the brain power for me to go up against and I think there might be something else going on with him/her mentally.

Like Mike said, do some research and post up one lie anyone ever told, just one where anyone tried to introduce false doctrine to anyone. You foolish humans always do these hit and runs because you can never ever back up anything that spews from your sludge filled mouths. Cowards. So, again, post something up for a change to give some credit to your silly self.
By the way, I really can't have too much respect for you until you correct your grammar. Maybe you were in a hurry but I will expect much more the next time around since you perceive yourself to be oh so intelligent and holy.
Bring it on, buddy boy (or buddy girl...ha-ha). I'll go toe to toe with you...no problem. Get yourself moving...post up the lies, misdirections, or whatever that you are speaking of. Come on now...giddy up there partner...tick-tock-tick-tock...

Hello?

I thought my answer was quite detailed and specific, even though couched in questions which you chose not to answer.

If you did not get the drift of it, what I was saying is that God can call his elect no matter where they are, and whatever they are doing. This OF COURSE includes folks who were born Catholics, attend Catholic services, and are frightened by priests from ever leaving their spiritual roots under pain of excommunication from the body of Christ.

You can apply this to black, white, pink or green men, rich or poor, clever or dull, protestant or catholic. God brings to new birth his elect whatever state they are in, whether nominal Christian, rebellious scoffer, serial killer. There is nowhere that God is not. He is even in the Vatican.

And your point is........?

I see as per usual you are avoiding the question. Is it too difficult for you?

Lets try it again.
Do you believe it possible that one of God's elect (per Eph.1:4,5) can serve in the RCC, as Lloyd-Jones suggests and incidentally Paisley (his site) agrees with.

Or do you advocate that the elect must demonstrate a specific theological qualification to separate and identify them as saved and going to heaven?

I just found this description of one of LR's sermons on revival on his website.

In revival God is not concerned about filling empty churches, He is concerned about filling empty hearts.

not sure why you would direct that comment at me, JY, as you refer to him, said, "I don't fellowship with anybody at the local Catholic Church that I attend" yet he has also talked about marrying a Catholic girl. It would be hard to find someone to marry at a church in which you have no fellowship with anyone. But he has now clarified that he would seek a bride once he moved. Just trying to get clarification, not to be unkind.
